as expected it was a close game we lost 12-8, the ref was disappointing but then playing the first half 30 mins then the second 18 and blowing up at the end after normingtons try you can understand it , they have a small sized team that tackles above the weight and came up quick in defense, who ever has taught them that its paying off as it restricted our attack and didn't get off the ground. in all the teams were evenly matched and showed in the result.

just come back from watching mutley lads team, stanley rangers under 9s v new earswick, a very impressive 50 points to 12 win in cold damp conditions, well done lads

first defeat from cas panthers u9s,we never recovered from a poor start which saw us go 12-0 down then 20-6 at half time,we never gave up and pushed them to the wire in the second half but could never quite get back on terms but we will take the positives from the game.

Under 17's Westgate Wolves 16 West Hull 10. West Hull had not been beaten this season but the Wolves found some "bite".

same thing happened last year with the under 11s at normy only this time it was the stanley ref that stopped the game ,as normy were getting on top

I can live with it but there was others spitting feathers

especially the mothers

that s what you get with kids rugby , but belive me junior football is a lot worse some of the parents behave like animals . My son s been playing rugby knocking up 3 year s for normy ,and i can say i ve not seen anything from both sets of parent s to worry about

tomorrow we are away at methley, bit of a feisty encounter last time where we over come them in the end 20-12, so I expect a few fireworks

seasonal joke kick off is at 11-30, be good to see how my lad responds after having the biggest telling off yet for not listening and talking in training, his ears took another bashing on the way home

its a big week for our u9s weve decided from this week we are to let the kids call the plays and go onto the field alone for the first time,hopefully all our training will see them in good stead but its a massive step forward for them and one that can only help in there long term development although it may take a few weeks for them to be comfortable in what they are doing.

bad indiscipline by the team has cost us the game and has given us a reputation that will be hard to shake off, the lads got the biggest dressing down ever.
The respect to other teams and refs will be addressed or they will not play for the team again, the time and effort put in by our coaches is not been shown by the players.

Normanton u12s beat Westgate 22 4 . Another hard fought game /the score flattered normy a tad ,but as they were down to 12 men for most of the match a great rusult for the lads .Westgate played some good stuff again ,and were unlucky not to get some more point s on the board

stanley 9s at home to East Leeds ...the unbeaten 9s aim to get their first double of the season

dont be too hard on them their at that age where the testesterome is flying about and there just finding their feet in life.

not going to repeat some of the things that happened but they was inexcusable

a fantastic performance from the panthers u9s playing their first game alone on the field,we scored 8 trys but never got a goal but the best effort came in defence which was superb and never looked like been broken.im proud as punch the way they bounced back from last weeks loss.

churwell chiefs under 10's 14 normanton 14

good game played in windy conditions. churwell should have just edged it but a couple of lapses of concentration cost us.

also churwell chiefs under 15's 4 hunslet warriors 10...game ended 10 mins early by a very substandard referee when it was an "all in" brawl with some of the hunslet players fighting with the supporters.. i see that hunslet warriors are the same theroughout all age groups !

Stanley 9s 28 East Leeds 20 ...superb match but getting a little difficult to rotate the subs at the moment Stanley always seem to have 4 more players. the rangers are still unbeaten and this was the first double of the season after beating the Leeds side 24-0 in September the improvement in east Leeds was huge and the lads really had to dig deep.

last week the 8s got victory at new earswick 7-6 well done guys but no game today.

i thought when we played east leeds they were quite decent at tackling but lacked shape with the ball in hand,certainly no push overs.

it looks like teams are starting to come to terms with the game and that can only be good for the game although i watched oulton vikings u9s against lock lane u9s before our game and the vikings team looked like they had just got 12 kids from off the street to come and play has they didnt have a clue what they were supposed to do.
