I think that clubs like ours need to start the season well, whereas, some of the big boys, who know that they will be competing for the big prize at the end of the season, can afford to take a more measured approach and they build towards a big finish.
The risk fo Trinity would be leaving themselves a couple of wins short to make the top 8.
Therefore, it important for us to start the season quickly.
Also, as others have said, there may be 5 fixtures but, nobody will play more than 3 games and the real plus this season, is to see so many of our younger players getting some experience, which should help us with our junior development, something that is the best that its ever been.
If we can sneak a couple of early wins, when the likes of Huddersfield, Salford and Widnes are still finding their feet, that will do us just fine.

On past visits to PO road I've had to get a ticket from the ticket office then through the turnstiles and it was chaos, does anyone know if it's the same procedure or cash at the turnstile. The reason this was done was due to allegedly fiddling on cash paying turnstiles.

When you look at Salford injuries, the best thing we can get through this phase of preseason is no injuries and some tuning of the key plays and partnerships

For some reason Fev have chosen not to send tickets over to us so we can buy in advance from our shop. Also heard they keep 100% of the gate money.

I am now asking myself do I need to go through all the chaos at the ground on match day. If Fev can't be d to organise the entrance system, I may not bother going.

Who told you that? I find that very hard to believe unless as stated it's aprt of the training deal in which case it's a solid piece of business - if it was Belly it doesn't count

Heard its payment for training facilities which I think is entirely fair, no problem at all with that.

Its the messing around on match day and their refusal to allow us to buy tickets from our club beforehand that I don't like.
If they can't be bothered to send us tickets then I can't be bothered to attend.

After the fiasco last year, yes it is. I am lucky, live in Wakey and going to the shop in ridings is no problem at all, in fact pass it several times per week.

But do you not think they would have learned from last years mistakes,
If you want to entice fans to your ground you have to improve things
like easy entrance! The longer your outside the less you spend inside.

When we (Fev) first brought in the new ticketing system (I can't remember when it was) it did cause lots of problems and there were occasions when there were big queues. The Fev fans, who are not backwards in voicing an opinion, moaned a lot about it on social media (as well as away fans).

I haven't seen any moans about it for a long time which suggests the setup has been sorted. In any case, why not come early and visit the clubhouse or have a wander round, our ground has improved in leaps and bounds in lots of ways in recent years.

It sure has, I enjoy going, even if my mum and dad are Fev fans

Very encouraging game for us Fev fans, I'd guess not so much for yourselves.

At least 10 missing. Not going to use that as an excuse as the side that went was still pretty strong.

I don't mind when we get beaten in friendlies it's often a great wake up call which I'd rather get now.

I've always said friendlies mean nowt and although being beaten by Fev or anyone is never great it's still no guide to the season.

I'm sure Belly will be on all doom and gloom but that's what you expect. You'd think we were world beaters against Leeds - point is both results are probably misleading.
