How is telling the truth a disgusting attitude?

Its not disgusting, but it speaks volumes about Webbo what he is saying about our playing roster - one that he has had an input on.

For a man who has been with us for nearly 4 years he seems strangely surprised by our lack of funds, yet this is Wakefield and it has always been the case, to a greater or lesser degree.

I do have sympathy with the idea of someone losing their job, but I can tell you I wouldn't get 2 years salary if I was fired for not being up to the task I was employed for. In that respect I hope that sense can be reached and a settlement agreed - if we are going down that road, but if he's hanging on for the big pay-day - stuff him - my club is bigger than him and its success and survival need to be given every possible chance and, IMO, that is with a fresh face and fresh ideas from someone who can galvanise the playing stock we have into a decent fighting unit.

We are Wakefield. We are a poor relation in SL, but we have pride in never having finished bottom, before now, and never having been relegated from SL. Both of these are inevitable as we stand, but one of them we can avoid if the right actions are taken.

This isn't about Mr Webster or his family, its about the Community of Wakefield and whether we can re-establish pride in our club!

The squad that has been assembled should be beating Leigh & if there had been a bona fide coach in charge, they would have.

But the problem is we all know there is so much going on behind the scenes that sacking him is not going to make all the problems go away is it? It could well be the first step, but there are no guarantees bringing someone else in will work, especially in the short term. Salford brought in Tim Sheens recently and they went the same way as us in the cup against the same opposition, and there's supposedly a happy healthy club under Mr Koukash......

The only that bothers me is 'if' he goes, what price Gilmour landing a 2 or 3yr deal to take over? Now that's typical Wakefield

I'm sure none of you are that bothered, but i'm neither slagging Webster or trying to defend him, just trying to be as fair and as rounded with my comments as I can be, I do now think it would be best for all concerned if he left, for him and the club. I personally would like to see Noble come in, but doubt it will happen.

It probably wont make a blind bit of difference, but continuing down this path is a sure fire capitulation, surely anything is better than what we have right now?

Have watched Wakey over 50 years. I am a season ticket holder, but will not go to widnes game and not watch Magic Weekend at all. This is down to a negative coach and a captain getting sin binned, giving Leigh's faster and more skill full half backs the room to do damage. In a few of Leigh's games, there appears to be sendings off or sin bins. Is this clever coaching to get more room for their half backs I wonder?

I have nothing against James Webster beyond his failings as a coach and man manager. Trouble is, it's professional sport and some tough choices have to be made. As you say for all concerned it would best if he went.

Noble might command the respect of the players in the short term and get us through the middle 8 but maybe wouldn't be a progressive choice in the long term? Prepared to be shot down for that though.

Noble is a chequebook coach IMO relying on being able to sign good players.

I don't hold with the name calling aimed at Webster, he's taken his shot at being in the big chair and it hasn't worked out for him. That doesn't mean he'll never make a coach just that here and now isn't his time but if he's big enough to point his analysis at himself and learn from his mistakes then who knows.

I would however lose respect for him if he just hangs on for money and does so at the expense of the future of the club.

Or alternatively teams now want to be the team to end the winning run and shut us up, and resort to those tactics to put us off our game. Who knows? You are not the first to say that mind although probably the first to use the word clever. The bitter ones just call us thugs.

Whoever comes in will need to wheel and deal and balance a squad on a low budget.
Noble has never had to do this, if fact he has always had big bucks to spend, plus he will want a hefty salary himself !

We aren't that much below the cap now and in his open letter MC states if we stay in SL next year we will be virtually spending up to the full cap. We may have a lower budget than others but we certainly are not as far behind the 8 ball as we have been previously as far as salary cap spend is concerned. Yes the club is operating on a "shoe string" in a number of areas but the poor on the field performances cannot be blamed on a lack of finance as much as could have been said in the past. The amount certain players are paid and the value for money they offer is a different discussion.

You probably have as bad management skills as him! I have been involved in sport all of my life through education and playing etc. Trust me his attitude stinks. If I win the lotto I will pay for his suitcase myself.

I still think that Noble would be very expensive.
Although there is no doubt that we need to change most of our coaching and conditioning staff, Noble would want a hefty wedge (I'd gamble more than double Webster's salary) and his back room staff would probably be a fair uplift (in cash terms) on what we have now and that is before we start on players wages.

Our lower salary cap spend than other teams is one of Websters favourite excuses but previous coaches have achieved much more with much less expenditure. And he can't really blame the Glover & Elston era for inflated contracts either given pretty much all the squad have either been signed or re-signed under Carters more thrifty watch. I think only Kirmond & Collis of the 'big earners' are from the previous regime with Annakin & Trout the others and i doubt they are earning the big bucks. This is largely his squad and Webster really doesn't help himself with some of his comments.

So 24 hours and no word from the club. Is the leech not listening? Any other club would've sacked Webster after the Warrington debacle (Cas did with Millward), never mind ten weeks on.

I am amazed that nothing has happened today, I thought it was a shoe-in that he would be gone one way or another. If it doesn't happen tomorrow then it is another game of ineptitude coming up and more revenue lost for the club no doubt. Strange way to run a business.

Like I said yesterday Carter made a near fatal mistake by tolerating appalling record for so long. We lost a lot of fans in that period that haven't returned, now he's doing the same with this Imbecile. This time its fatal too many fans have gone and I can't see of them coming back now.

The club appears to have once again gone into lock down. If he was going under his own vallition then he would have gone today.

Well if the position of head coach becomes available, you can apply for it and see if your positive attitude gets you the job. I doubt his attitude is any worse than the players, all goes hand in hand i'm afraid.
