Oh ok then I will give my head a shake but you give yours a shake if we hit injuries to Amor and Johnson because I think you will find that what we can then put at prop will get ripped to pieces by a lot of SL teams!

We have 3 props in Amor, Wilkes and Johnson and two more in Raliegh and James as back up and a couple of youngsters. It's as good as most. Even Saints or Leeds would struggle if they lost there first choice props. You are just creating an issue that isn't there. Yes another big prop would be very nice, and that would apply to at least ten other clubs.

Wilkes is 6'2" and 17 stone by the way and thus is bigger than Amor (6'2" 16 1/2 stone) or Johnson and has way more experience. Andy Raleigh is exactly the same size as Amor whilst James is the same height and just 2lbs lighter.

Kyle Leululai is 5'10" and 17 stone 2 lbs and thus a smaller specimen than Wilkes.

These are the stats like it or not. Of course there is more than just size that makes a prop. The main one is ticker and certainly Wilkes, Amor, Johnson and Raleigh have proved not to be short of that.

As I say fans make it up as they go along to suit their particular issue, real or imagined.

Stosic is the best prop we've had in years, better than Tronc in many ways, obviously not as eye catching but certainly more reliable, solid and one of those players that allowed his team mates to play their best rugby while he did the graft.
If we had a James Stosic in the team alongside Southern there wouldn't be many teams that would enjoy attacking us down the middle.

Mark O'Meley would be my ideal choice, in an ideal world.

With interchanges being reduced I feel the teams with the bigger impact props wil struggle this year like you Warrington's, Leeds, Dragons and so on. And lets also not forget the unlimited interchanges on Saturday.

Johnson needs more size to be called a out and out prop no way. Wilkes and Amour ; James is he upto SL standard,? Jury is out for me . As for Hickey we didn't no he would come like Homer Simpson; if he was fit he would have been a good signing.

No Leeds can't call Amor back anytime it suits them.

He was fit, settled and did the job he was supposed to do. That's 3 straight away!

Tronc was fit while he was here, the rest is unfortunate that he didn't settle here but that doesn't take away from what a player he was, he was world class imo.

Yes he did. He also fails to realise because he never researches what he types at 5 ft 11 in 16 st 7 lb Stosic is slightly smaller than Johnson but about 1/2 a stone heavier. However he has IMO a props physique and will carry an extra stone easily, may well have added 1/2 a stone in the off season.

We have an obsession on this forum with making out our players to be smaller than they are and the opposition much bigger.

Strength, grit, skill, experience and biff are a different issue.

Tronc was better than Stosic for me (when he 1st arrived) I liked the way he could take out 3 or 4 players and offload. A proper prop.

Tronc could have been a legend at BV if things had gone in the way they should have done.

Tronc and Stosic were very different style players but equally they were two of the best props we've had in a long time.
I'd have either back now. Both would be great.

While he was here he was a class above.

Of course he was, but he didn't fit in with our club - for whatever reasons - and for that reason I would choose Stosic ahead of him.

I believe I am correct in assuming that this thread was started as a result of our pack being dominated by Les Cats on Saturday ???

Whilst we all acknowledge that we undoubtedly could do with a hard hitting prop, let's not forget that the pack was also missing our hardest hitter in Southern, and was also missing Wilkes and Mariano !!!!

Do not despair.......THE SEASON HASN'T EVEN KICKED OFF YET !!!!!!!!

What's Stosic up to anyway can't seem to find out where he is or who he's playing for, would have made a good partnership with Southern imo if he'd have been here.

johnson is wasted in the front row. his preferred position is second row. he will tell you that. ollie is a decent front rower. kyle as you mentioned earlier is still learning and no matter what others may say can be called back up until july. i don't talk rubbish. i give my opinion as i accept other peoples opinions
