| If you were having a practice game Murphy would be one of those players that got picked first by the captain who won the toss, he would do you a good job choose where you played him.

| I'm delighted that Murphy is showing up well as a F/B. If and it's far to early to tell he is better than Blaymire then fantastic. This is how it should be there should always be young players coming through putting pressure on the established players, that is how great teams are formed.
That said to most sensible fans Blaymire is held in high regard, and for those normal saddo suspects (yet to post) on here who seem to revel in one players misfortune - don't.
I suggest we as fans grow up and instead revel in the fact that we already have a first class F/B who is now under pressure from a young pretender who may be even better.
How good is this. If Murphy keeps Blaymire out due to his form then so be it. What's great is the fact that in a key position it would appear we have two quality players and should Murphy get injured or lose his form we have a ready made replacement - that is real strength in depth.
A word of warning, I have only seen Murphy play against Wigan at F/B. Although I did see him play F/B in the Under 21's which IMHO was his best position. Good though he is especially running the ball out of defence there are parts of his game that are not yet as good as Blaymires. He isn't as yet as comfortable under the high ball, despite what some of the pundits on here suggest Blaymire has spoilt un in that respect. He also doesn't command the back line as yet. All these things will come in time. However playing Wigan (friendly) and Quins (weakened side) is one thing, when we play Leeds and Catalan and the ball is flying all over the place that will be the real test. One I really hope he passes. I also hope all those bulling him up on here will show some patience if or when he makes errors which he will.

| I think the full back position is a difficult one to pick, as you are left with two opposing views: do you go for the steady full back who will offer most defensively (Blaymire) or the decent full back who offers more threat in attack (Murphy)?
For me, the attacking full back offers more to the game than the defensive full back, provided that they can catch a ball (which was one of Grix's early failings). I can't think of anything yesterday that Blaymire would have done better, but Murphy did some things that Blaymire wouldn't have done (ie, set up Jeffries like he did).
Only one game in, and maybe a few howlers to come, but the position is Murphy's to lose, in my view.

| Certainly looks better at full back than the wing he was the pick of pre season too.BLaymire will struggle to get back in, credit to the lad.

| Jefferies was MOM against Quins. Without that injection of pace and direct running from Jefferies then i feel Quins might be the ones in 2nd position. Murphy played well but i think people on here are getting a little excited. I would have Ben Jones Bishop over Murphy at FB, but i do agree that he is doing OK

| I'll be honest, up to the end of last season i did not think MURPHY would make the cut in SL. mainly due to his slight physique.
That said this off-season seems to have done the trick as to me he looks to have bulked up abit on top which was needed.
His last 2 games show promise that he might be at the point where he can step up.
I don't place him as a centre but on the wing or fb he looks like he may fit in.
Im happy with his progress so far having nearly written him off. Good times.

| Personally, Iāve always been impressed with Murphy whenever heās been in the side, His one on one tackling has been spot on and has never seemed to let anyone down. The only issues was that whenever he got a chance he seemed to get injured which of course would make it difficult to capture any sort of consistently good form.
Hopefully now, with an extended run in the side, he will develop accordingly and put pressure on the incumbents of the respective positions across the back line.

| Murphy will become a first team regular in my opinion. He's hungry, enthusiastic and eager, which can only bode well for the future. Regardless of how us as fans judge his albility (I rate him btw), the one thing you can't knock about the lad is his attitude and focus which will take him far.

| As for BIBB well. I think of the few seasons he has been with wakefield he has shown too little.
I would sooner see Trout get in the team ahead of BIBB. we have a youngster namely ANNEKIN who will bust a gut for trinity and that would be a better use of monies. I hope BIBB will prove he can cut it this year for himself if not us.
But this is not about bibb its about murphy and the lad is statring to show us what he can do.
The next step is for him to show us consistency before we find out if we have a SL player on our hands.

None.
However if you claim to have done then tell us who you are. Until you do I have no reason to believe a word you say or give your claim an ounce of credibility. A PM will do fine.
No offence but these forums are full of people who claim to be what they are not.

Cracking player who in my opinion could cut the mustard, however from what I believe he was offered the same terms as Trout, Davey, Morton et al (my understanding of the situaton is we have a wage structure in place for upcoming youngsters that has been stuck to vehemently) and turned them down. Perhaps after his outing on boxing day he may be regretting his decision. Hope we can persuade him to sign up some time soon as I really do believe he could be a top class 13 and he could have the likes of Morrison and JD as his mentor.

That is correct from what I'm told, we pay X and he wanted Y. I'm not against breaking the wage structure in exceptional circumstances. I rate Anekin but am not convinced he is exceptional enough to take the risk.
