Ah your post has just reminded me of another player I would hate to see in Red, White and Blue;

Nope. He's fine when he keeps his head down and just concentrates on tackling/driving the ball up. Unfortunately he's got the idea into his head that he's a creative player and puts in terrible kicks and passes, gets frustrated and starts giving away loads of penalties/possession. He'd be okay as a second row workhorse (if you could stop him trying to be creative) but there's plenty of cheaper players who can do that role just as well.

No No No. I don't agree with any of these. Would have Ablett like a shot and he isn't dirty at all in my opinion. I could list 10 straight off that are worse, some in our team!

Stats don't agree.
"Getting frustrated and giving penalties away", good job we don't have a play-maker who does that..... 1 less penalty in 4 less games than Broughy (who also has the added bonus of a red and yellow card to his name).
www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2009
I think he is massively under-rated and gets undue stick becuase of the Wigan/Farrel connection. I think this is a case of clouded judgement when looking at other team's players. Who would want Broughy and Newton in their side?

Yeah but the difference, the real big difference, is that Brough can be great. O'Loughlin, at his best, goes unnoticed, quietly doing the hard work.

I think he is massively over-rated because of his Wigan/Farrell connection.

| Players who have at some time or another fallen into this category for me are...
Ray Price - too old
Andy Wilson - who?
Julian O'Niell - Jules the trouble king
Mark Conway - Leeds scum
Paul Reilly - Badger Chav
Ricky Bibey - OMG
Richard Moore - WTF?
Ollie Wilkes - why the hell are we signing all this crap?
thing is you never really know what you are gonna get until they pull on the shirt and you don the rose tinted glasses!!!

| Wouldn't discount any players regarding their playing abilities but would not like to see either Leon Pryce or Ryan Hudson wear our shirt. Their off field antics over shadow any sporting prowess.

More so his general cockiness which eclipsed his actual ability. I laughed so hard the time he was showboating in the in-goal area instead of putting the ball down and his foot slightly brushed the dead ball line. No TRY!
To be honest it must be something about Leeds ¾’s as Francis Cummins and Karl Pratt also had the same affect upon me.

On the strength of the rest of his illustrious career, is it not fair to say he is a player worth having? I assume whenever any Wakey player has punched an opponent in the past it is always with the intent of not causing any pain or injury?

| I was trying to imply that some of the reasons that have been given by some 'posters' for not wanting to see a player in a Wakey shirt, are at best a little vague/petty................hence the scratchy head emoticon!!!!!
I personally judge players on playing ability and as a person, not what they have or have not done.
