jeeeze have a word with yourself, I only asked you questions knowing that you have no answers , just like the questions you asked about Glasshoughton.
the truth girl is that me and you and everyone else that cares about our clubs and the game in general are being s hit on from a great height and until we are told what is happening we are expected to keep arguing the virtues of our ground as opposed to yours.
I think the council will just pull the plug on any financial help for either site and this study just gets them involved out of the office for a few hours and a couple of free pub lunches while debating the matter thrown in.
no share, no merger, thats my opinion'"

| Quote ="Catwoman1"Just remind me again where the money for Glasshoughton is coming from ... and why full planning permission has not been sought so that the work on the stadium can get started.
Our full plans are ready and waiting to go as soon as outline permission is granted.'"
i think all these ground threads have now just about proved themselves to be totally pointless, neither set of fans wants to go to the others ground but at the end of the day the decision wont be made by the fans.
Both developments have their own specific problems Cas dont have the money to move forward and Wakey dont have the planning permission and just as an outsider looking in i think there is a massive question mark as to wheather the site will ever get planning permission, or to re-phrase that if it will get planning permission in time. So what is the answer to this, cas somehow struggle forward on their own and maybe somehow manage to build half a stadium (doubtful i think).
wakey if PP isnt approved go to Barnsley as paying tennants (would be very expensive i think and would be bound to hit the clubs revenues as gates are bound to fall) and how long could the club sustain this, just say as a figure 2 years untill planning went through (once again doubtful i think), or i could be wrong and planning could go through in september which would probbably make newmarket the best option for both clubs.
So i think at the end of the day Glasshouton is the best option for both sides if staying in super league is the goal of both clubs infact i think it is the only option to be honest. Because if all wakey need is the planning permission and that does get held up all they have to do is share with cas untill it gets passed then move on. I know this post probbably wont be too well recieved but i think this is the only way one or both teams are going to still be in super league after the next set of licences are issued, but on the other side of that as i said earlier if wakey truely believe planning will be granted in time for newmarket then they should stick with that and both clubs go it alone. Thats how i see the situation anyway and as i said the fans opinions wont count for much at the end of the day but a desision will need to be made by both clubs and the council very soon or i fear it will all be too late anyway.

I just don't trust the council or RFL and expect them to pull the plug as soon as we did play at GH, it just won't work

Growing up,I always thought Cas was a suburb of Leeds but even now I don't consider it part of Wakefield,as I'm sure you don't.

| Now the week has progressed, I am starting to feel a little brighter. This is because all week this forum has been full of Cas fans extolling the virtues of a Glasshoughton share, to the point where I am wondering whether they are desperate for us to join them there. But why? If Newmarket was full steam ahead, I couldn't care less whether Cas joined us or not. That would be up to them. But there is starting to feel like there is a hint of desperation about the Cas position, as if they feel that without our support, they feel that Glasshoughton is doomed.
If Glasshoughton is so promising, Cas fans, why are you so keen for us to share?
Reading between the lines, I feel more positive.

I'm not. I just feel it would be more beneficial than Oakwell if Newmarket fell through.

And another! It's like some kind of Big Brother thought police type operation.
"And if all others accepted the lie which the Cas Party imposed—if all records told the same tale—then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past' ran the Cas Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'"

| Dear me Bren, you really need to appreciate that this is an Internet forum. People talk, discussions happen. If you don't like that, then may I suggest you may be in the wrong place?
As for my reply, it was simply in reply to one of your fellow Wakefield fans who asked a question Castleford fans. Do I think that's the best thing for WTW? No. Obviously, it isn't - the best thing being that Wakefield have their own stadium.

I'm all for a discussion, I've just had enough of every post on here being answered by one of your WLO's waxing lyrical about why GH is the best option for both clubs. I'm with Slugger on this one - there's an air of desperation to it, probably because you need us way more than we need you.

Cas fans are posting on here, perhaps because it's where most of the discussion is centred. Similarly, we're both in the same boat: if Newmarket is the most feasible, Cas have a decision to make. If GH is the most feasible, as do Wakefield. However, most of your fans seem to have made a rash decision that GH is the most likeliest to be picked. Whilst it does have certain things going for it, it is by no means concrete.
A minority of Wakefield fans have been waxing lyrical about the "community facilities" and why that is the reason Newmarket should be picked. Do you see Cas fans getting annoyed about those? No, purely for the simple fact we recognise the benefits that those things offer but as with both sets of fans, the only thing that stops both sets of fans seeing the situation realistically and objectively is the location.
I can see why you're getting slightly annoyed by other posters that clearly only have one agenda and offer nothing constructive - to wind Wakefield fans up - but to tarnish all Cas fans as the same is mildly disappointing. At the end of the day, from a personal point of view, Newmarket for Wakefield and Glasshoughton for Cas has always been the way I've wanted it and many people know that on here. I'm a proactive fan of getting the best for Wakefield - I will always be proud of the rugby league in the district and the strength it has. We - both sets of fans - deserve better and so do our clubs.
If there was a way that everything could be resolved then I wish for it to happen. However, it is unlikely in the current situation and people have to start looking at what will benefit their respective clubs the most if it really does come to the crunch.

| Fully i have no problem with that at all, posters are getting a bit touchy on both sides i'm afraid. The problem lies with posters saying one thing on this board and another on the Cas board and i dare say the other way around. It won't get any better sadly over the coming weeks.
Discussion is welcome.
