| Quote ="bigalf"The only reason I have stopped posting my views on here is because of the abuse given back in return, from your good self included.
Just to say again, my only objection (Go back through all my posts if you wish) has been to the wharehousing etc on greenbelt, not to the stadium. I do admit that I have always had reservations about the "methodology" used in pushing the scheme through.
Happy New Year!

Just had a look at their forum and what I think they're saying is
They're taking it to high court
They're setting up their own political party just for cas & maybe parts of rural Norfolk
They want 2m from the council to do up their own privately owned stadium
They can't spell
They don't like who's on the Wakefield District Stadium Trust
They're obsessed with our great City
They don't like the fact that the community Trust is sourcing funds to build the stadium
Big Alf is PMing people and hinting he knows something that he hope will hinder our City and district get a stadium that it needs and what every other City Wakefields size already
They thing if Newmarket didn't happen the council will fill in all the pot holes
I think that's they're saying. I was under the impression that the Newmarket development got passed by SOS beginning of dec, there's 6 weeks for anyone to try to take it to high court, full plans go in and we can start hopefully new stadium ready for start of 2015 season. Is that right? or do we have to go on the cas forum for what they think is fact.

| In all my years of supporting RL i don't think I've seen a supporter so insecure about his own club, unbelievably though he tries to pass himself off as some kind of environmentalist but how does he account for all the celebrating and rabble rousing he does when our club has run into problems in the past
His obsessiveness and insecurity leads him to trawl the internet, trying his utmost to dig up dirt on the club, the stadium build or the people building it, just so he can pass it on to the other half wits on that stain of a forum. Seriously who goes searching places like company records or the London Gazette, to find info about a rival team, I'd certainly be ashamed if a Trinity fan was up to the same tricks.
I mean earlier this year he was like a pig in crap when he broke news about the winding up petition, he couldn't wait to come on here to tell us all about it and as many other people as he could besides elsewhere, seriously who has the time, the inclination or is pathetic enough to do this kind of stuff.
He can paint it however he likes and no doubt he certainly will but you only have to look at his post history on this site and his posts on that other forum that he's more interested in Trinity than he is in his own club.
He then has the cheek to pop up & say, 'my only objection (Go back through all my posts if you wish) has been to the wharehousing etc on greenbelt', surely he can't be that deluded to think people are stupid enough to swallow one bit of that, his actions clearly say something different.

Spot on post!!!!!
The top and bottom of this is that all the obstacles have been cleared, all protestation waved off and only in times of uncertainty have his opinions held any gravitas.
Due process has been carried out and his view is that of a minuscule few, all of whom have had time to prove their objections as reasonable and capable of holding any water.
The process has seen none of their nimby or bigoted views given any credibility in the real world all that they have tiny village committees and forum inhabited by people with tiny brains and much vitriol.
They've had their chance they've failed now its throw muck at the district and its governance, the irony that the district is run by Cas fans is even lost on these blinkered fools.
To say such people are damaged goods accept for within their own ever decreasing circles is a waste of ones own breath.
Nowhere but in a vacuum lacking knowledge is their view now worth anything, hence the deafening silence we now witness from those quarters!!
Thank god for small mercies!!!

Indeed. Its cringe inducing drivel.
I don't bother looking at it anymore. It's a major embarrassment to all decent Cas fans.

| Can't be bothered reading it - it is unfortunate, if predictable, given that the Cas club has gone from 'we've got planning permission; here are our detailed plans; here's our diggers and we'll be in by 2008' to where they are now - exactly nowhere! I'm sorry that this is the case and would be happy to see them develop either WR or GH as niether will affect the future of WTW or the provision of the Community Stadium we have desired / campaigned for.
I know there are many who believe that Cas have got exactly what they deserved and, certainly, RW's stunt at the PI was beyond contempt, butmost Cas fans are just the same as us, they want a successful RL club to represent their Town, they have both the heart and the heritage of RL and have all the ingredients, stadium permitting, to make a great club and to promote our game at it's very best.
We have around 2 weeks left now for the legal challenge - we cannot say for certain it won't happen, but we are fairly sure it won't - it's expensive and only a lawyer looking at what fees he could generate would suggest that it would succeed.
After the 2 weeks we will hopefully hear more of what is about to occur - if we don't, we will certainly be asking on all our behalf. At some point we should hear of potential / secured partners in the scheme, together with the submission / release of more detailed plans, but all this will take time and we are aiming to try and keep peoples feet on the ground - I still believe we will have done extremely well if we are kicking off there at the start of 2015.
Let's leave the Cas fans to their own devices - I wish them all the best in general (although one or two have got under the skin a little), but our main concern remains on our own future - and Cas fans will play very little role in that!
Here's to more good news to come in 2013!

| I think we'll hear of partners coming sooner rather than later, & if you're really nerdy the info is already out there in the public domain.
When partners are added this will be celebrated by certain Cas fans who think Yorkcourts whole game plan has been to get planning permission before splitting the pie up for maximum personal profit. Which in a sense is true, although the "devious motives" some will have you believe is nothing more than how the world works. Other companies will buy into it, but the development will remain whole- just with multiple partners in the individual aspects as well as in the development as a whole. Whenever you see a sign for a large scale development there are always 6/7 other companies listed under the main developers brand, this is the reason.
Yorkcourt will keep a stake hold in the development (& the leisure facilities) but will sell off the lions share, probably about 2/3's, this won't affect us in anyway. In fact it's a massive positive. The sooner YC raise the money the quicker we're getting our development/stadium.

That is exactly what is happening and the way that the whole thing is financed. Some of the hard of understanding the other side of the common won't understand it but basically it means that their last major hope, that YCP can't afford to build, is shot out of the water. Certain people on their forum still think they are ahead in the stadium race. The reality is once reserved matters goes in will will be miles ahead whilst Glasshoughton will never happen. Wonder why Alf & co haven't mentioned the fact that Waystone still own the land and they are looking for other user for the site?

| It's such a shame a small minority of Castleford fan's can't be happy for WTW but mainly for the Wakefield District who will benefit immensely. I'd have thought they'd be happy as they didn't want to share at NM and want to go ahead with GH?
They will obvious mask their displeasure by throwing up numerous reasons such as Green belt, Transport links etc but the reality is they just didn't want WTW to benefit from the community facilities to be provided at NM. Envy can be a terrible thing, especially when they should be rallying behind Cas Tigers and SF and NF and supporting the GH project.
As far as i can see everyone got their wish, Wakefield at NM and Castleford at GH and should be happy. I can't wait to visit both teams new grounds when they're built in SL

| Think cas needs to tell their fans what they're doing regarding stadium issues. Is GH dead like most are saying or are they doing up WR or is there a chance they might end up at the NM community stadium. All they keep hearing "they'll be stadium news in the next few weeks" are they going to carry on with that line or make a decision as waiting for the economic climate to change could prove there downfall. Glad we accepted the community stadium trusts invitation to move into Newmarket, although we had little choice, plus it's about time is North Wakefielders had some community facilities near us
