We've won games we should have lost this season, so whilst tonight's result is disappointing, it's the way things go.

Cas looked utterly useless tonight - we've got to beat them up next week.

Makes the decision to release BJ all the more suprising if we don't have anyone lined up to replace him. I wish for once the club would do what is best for the club, we seem to release players too readily.

Cas won't play that badly again. Them getting a touch up on tv probably hasn't done us any favours. As for us our lack of creativity is there for all to see. Releasing Jeffries without a replacement in situ seems a strange decision right now.

Yes it does and if there isn't one coming of better quality , questions need to be asked because at the end of the day we didn't have to sell him, he could of gone any where he wants at the end of the season. The club needs to ensure we win as many games as possible, so releasing one of our better , experienced players, should be a no-no at this point at the season.

My comment was not specific to tonights defeat but a comment about releasing Jeffries mid-season for nothing if we have no experienced half back to come in. It may sound harsh but Jeffries had a contract with us for another 18 months and whilst it wasn't guaranteed to be a SL one beyond the end of the season, when he signed for 3 years he knew that would be a potential risk, therefore whilst I appreciate he has a family to think of, I would have liked the coach to thing of the clubs position first and foremost.

Eddie delighted to tell Terry Matterson that Wakefield have lost tonight, Matterson quite rightly said that he wasn't interested in what Wakefield did.

No point recriminating about Jeffries now - he only played 5 games this season and has hardly set the SL on fire, so it's a stretch to suggest that he would have made the difference tonight.

I'm more interested in the contribution of the people who actually played - looking forward to the highlights and the comments of those people who were at the game.

Four full games, 3 tries, 2 wins. Not bad really. I just hope he's replaced thats all.

Still onwards to Cas, that game is even more important now.

We don't need Jeffries. He is history now.

I'll be interested to see the highlights etc like yourself and nobody has said BJ, would of made the difference tonight.Without seeing the highlight or hearing about the game from those who watched, it's hard to say how it went, but I think you can draw opinion from the previous games this season and also what appears to have happened tonight, that we lack are missing a cutting edge in attack and whatever you think of BJ, he can give that.

We've been lamenting the lack of 'cutting edge' since the start of the season, when Jeffries was still here.

Onwards and upwards I say - bring on Cas, who were similarly lacking creativity; the amazing Rangi Chase was totally absent tonight, and their problems ran significantly deeper than Paul Jackson dropping out during warm-up - can't wait.

Exactly we have, but getting rid of one of our guys, who can add that creative spark, just doesn't seem smart, unless of course there is someone coming in, time will tell.
Anyway like you say, onwards and upwards and if the tie needed any extra spice, Cas coming off a huge loss and us coming off a disappointing loss against Cru. Bring it on, can't wait.

Kear's comments seem to indicate displeasure towards a certain Phil Bentham?

I'm not surprised. The penalty count seemed to be around 14 -3 in Crusaders favour. God knows where he got some of the penalties from. That and their persistent offside meant that we couldn't get out of our own half in the second period.
