Hopefully. I'm not so much worried that he doesn't know what he's doing as much as the players have been hearing his voice for the last however long and their performances have not indicated they would run through walls for the regime he was part of. Although that said his inexperience means we have no idea what to expect

That's a long time indeed.
It sounds like ( to use a cliche ) Agar had lost the dressing room like Elliot did here in NZ. It happens. Total lack of faith in the head coach.
An advantage of the number two man from the inside is that they have been watching their bosses relationship with the players and more importantly seeing their weakness's free of the bias so many Coaches carry for certain players etc.
Assistant coaches get more of an overview, free of the same polarizing pressure of the head coaching role.
I quite like the idea of an assistant having some time as caretaker, you get to find out quickly who they rate in the squad...who wasn't pulling their weight at training, who the assistant thinks was a contributor to the ill culture in the team.
Hopefully Webster starts by changing the way Wakefield defend.
Here in NZ the focus went on picking players who can get off the line fast and use defense as an attacking weapon.
It really catches the opposition out when they expect to face a weak defence and end up on the back foot when they have the ball.
I hope he comes down hard on people that are giving away penalties , putting pressure on their team mates, not adhering to the plan.
So many coaches dig holes for themselves by miss placed Loyalties. Set a standard and make everyone in the team accountable.
Fans won't turn on the new guy for dropping players if their is a clear plan. Three Stars were dropped in the first three weeks here. Ok so some fans got a bit sad on one of them , but that players rampaging now. Personally I enjoyed seeing the accountability put on the players and especially that none of the 'most talented' were immune to being used to set an example to the rest from reserve grade ( one bloke never made it back ).
Looking forward to reading peoples thoughts three games from now , when Webster has started showing his hand.

| Witnessed the change from Ass. to Headcoach when Elliot left NZ playing much better and players seem to be enjoying themselves more, hopefully the same happens here.

| On the flip-side of comparing with Elliott leaving NZ Warriors, look at Danny Orr stepping up to head coach when Milward was sacked at Tigers. I think he won 4 out of 5 games allbeit it was only as caretaker coach and he did state he wasn't ready to step-up completely.

| The step up in itself is no new thing
All the Bulls coaches through their successful period were promoted from within and each had their own spin on things
Wane stepped up at Wigan and hasn't done so bad.
Anderson did the same at Huddersfield
It's the quality of coach and person that counts, not how they got the job.
Let's see what Webster can do. This may be the start of an exciting era for both Wakefield and Webster.

Depends whether our newly issued CCJ is a one off dispute or the sign of things to come again. It is getting tiresome either way.

Why should I it was not me that made the allegation, if I had I bet you would be the first to ask me to prove it. If I said for example that you possess the a rare gift of optimism you would know I was being untruthful and ask that I furnish my evidence to back up this wild allegation.

| Let's get the truth out there before this goes past mental once again.
Last September we were informed of a debt to a supplier from the old regime. Alongside this was a liability to Wakefield hospice. Once we find out we paid the hospice immediately despite this suppliers website still saying we haven't.
We then agreed a deal with said supplier to get his money to him over the course of the next few months. Like we did with a number of suppliers.
A week letter we received a summons from the supplier. When we asked him having agreed a deal, he replied that his solicitor had told him to take us to court instead.
However they actually took the wrong company to court. A few months later when they realised they added spirit of 1873 as a joint dependent. This landed on my desk 2 weeks ago. We admitted full liability for the debt. We submitted a payment plan. A counter offer payment plan was agreed by the judge. It is a payment plan that is longer then a month hence it gets registered as a ccj.
Strangely enough if he had stuck to the original deal he would have had his money ages ago.
So all this then becomes public knowledge.
Oh, and it's a Wakefield fan!
That's it. Lock stock and barrel. No doubt some of it will get twisted to suit someone's agenda.

| Well I for one am happy to take that on face value, after the way you've dealt with the clubs debt and got us back somewhere near on track financially.
I'm sure its very hard to balance the books and further problems may crop up.
I like a good moan but on this one I support you and the club 100%.

That is all fair enough and its good to have the explanation out there. Though its hardly a surprise that Wakefield fans are a little twitchy when something like this hits the public domain though given all the crap we've been through in the past!

Precisely put.
As much as I can appreciate MC being totally narked by these things making the pages of this forum and becoming public news, I sometimes think because he isn't a supporter and been through it so often, he doesn't quite get why so many are so twitchy.
