Also, keeping hold of youngsters from your own academy helps on the salary cap, as you get accreditation for this, such as having someone under the age of I think 23 in your top 25 earners, players staying at the same club for a given length of time etc.

So in effect this could free a bit of room to attract bigger name players from elsewhere.

Just think of some of the players over the years on the Leeds salary cap, such as McGuire, Burrow, JJB etc

It's a cut-throat and murky world, with all sorts of dodgy dealings going on; it starts with men in long coats appearing at U15's games and approaching parents in the car park, and gets worse as the lads in question get closer to Academy sign-up age. By the time they are in the system, Wire are known to throw big money at the boys they want to secure.

If true they are in breach of RL poaching rules unless he is out of contract or if we have allowed them to talk to him. I don't think the last two apply therefore the club should report them to the RFL plus his age means that they would have to pay a transfer fee set by the club.
I am afraid that any club whoever they are would be considered to be in a weak position due to his age and the fact that he is under contract and apparently we no longer need to money.

I think you're chosing to miss the point. I stated that you may well be right, but what always amazes me is that nobody mentions these things when it's going right but a few duff performances and the rumour mill goes into over drive. As big lad states this is not really a new story but no one was panicking a few weeks ago.

I'm not saying you personally are trying to cause bother but IMHO Trinity fans are super fickle and super insecure - I understand why to a degree but is it any wonder that good players get very nervy at our after a few bad games club when they don't really need to.

Confidence breeds confidence and it's about time we as a club and that includes the fans started to exude some. It's not easy and in recent years I've found it especially hard going but we have to draw a line in the sand and just encourage these players by our own attitudes that this is the place to be - they seem to manage it at Cas where the positivety isdeluded in many ways yet still seems to have a positive effect.

Money talks at the end of the day, but it talks louder to some more than others - but without belief and positivity which is really all fans can offer after paying the wages then no ones going to make any other choice than leave.
