The Conservative Group full support the development of the Wakefield Wildcats stadium in Stanley. We have also declared our support in the Wakefield Express.
I have no further information at this time and I am not aware of it being presented before planning. When I am advised of any further information I will pass it on to you.

| I have had corrispondance with Mark Crowther who is the leader of the Conservatives on Wakefield Council. He confirmed to me that the Conservatives on the council were in full support of the Newmarket development.

As my councillor forwarded my mail to Lisa Dodd would it be an idea to include her in the mails?

Because each council ward has 3 councillors. This is because it is a part time posistion so it allows the workload to be spread across the 3 to equal 1 full time posistion.

| Not sure if I'm Newton Hill east or west, I'm off Leeds road to the right hand side, as you leave Wakefield. Think it's probably west, shall I just email both wards???

If you are unsure yes, why not!
That reminds me, you should really put your postal address on the e-mail to the councillors as they will then know and have confirmation you are in their Ward.
I think if you just put in your e-mail you are unsure that will be fine. You may get an e-mail back from one or some of them telling you which Ward you are in as well.

| Messages sent,
as follows;
Dear sir/madam
I am writing to express my strong belief that the Newmarket stadium and related development should come into being.
Without doubt my team would benefit greatly from this stadium, as would many more smaller but equally important sporting clubs, who are, let's face it, poorly looked after in the Wakefield area with sporting facilities.
Added onto this the proposed link with Wakefield college on the site would benefit many more young people and with the employment created by the warehousing and logistic busines's that would form part of the wider development, many more people would be able to gain employment in what seem to be austere times.
Clearly sporting benefits encourage a healthier lifestyle so hopefully our regions health services could also benefit.
I trust this development has your backing and look forward to hearing your responseÂ
Regards
Ian smith.

| Would it be worth making a generic letter that could be copied, pasted, edited and sent in next to no time?
People simply fill in their name, address, email address and send it. I know that seem's a lazy option but it would potentially increase the impact we could expect from this final drive.
We've all seen how quick group emails can fly round the work place, well why not use that to our advantage. If we all sent out group emails containing a generic letter of support to friends, family, work colleagues ect we could really push home with this.
Just an idea to maximise the impact we can make.

It is better to have people write in their own words - whatever they may be - and show their own feelings towards this at this stage.
I understand the idea of having a standard form, and it may make a few more people send something in, but we would lose that emotional quality that we feel is important at this stage - and especially with your own councillors.

Fully appreciate that. And I was thinking the same, my reasoning came from others who have already written letters and this to them (who may not be privy to information passed on here) may seem a repetitive and laborious task..
-Again I know how lazy that sounds to us who have written multiple letters- but we are the slight minority of "active supporters".
When I get a reply from any of the emails I sent yesterday I will post it on here.

No, Lofthouse is in Stanley & Outwood East Ward and Wrenthorpe in the Wrenthorpe & Outwood West Ward.
Lofthouse is n the the same Ward as the Newmarket site!
Here is the link to find your Ward again - [urlhttp://www.wakefield.gov.uk/CouncilAndDemocracy/Councillors/Wards/default.htm?wbc_purpose=Basicdefault.hdefault.htm%23categories[/url

It can be as short or long as you like, and at the most basic can be a couple of lines saying I am a voting member of your council ward and as you you represent me on Wakefield Council, I would like to ask you to support the Newmarket development!
However, unlike the planning support letters which should really only deal with planning issues only and follow certain 'rules' these e-mail don't have to, so the more emotional and personal the better.
We want as many people to write to their councillors as possible, so if that is a short few line e-mail that is great but we hope some of you might write in a little more detail, give them your own and personal opinion, what Wakefield Trinity Wildcats mean to you, why you want them to have a new home etc!
This is an opportunity to write and say anything and everything YOU want to YOUR elected councillors... come on guys, we all post lots of stuff on here, so a few e-mails is nothing!
In fact you might find some really great stuff to include in your e-mail from previous threads and posts about this very issue???

| Meant to add that some of you may get replies, some of you may not, but please don't get upset if you don't. If some of your Ward councillors are also on the planning committee you are very unlikely to get a reply or a reply expressing their actual opinion on the issue because they have certain obligations to (be seen!) to remain impartial until the formal planning report is issued and the meeting itself takes place. If they don't they could be asked to abstain from the meeting... and we don't want that!
