I'm not sure of the finer details but I remember posting at the time my disgust for Ted Richardson for not allowing JK to go to Catalans when they approached the club for his services as it was common knowledge that his contract was not being renewed, you would have thought that with everything he'd done for the club, he would have gone with Ted's blessing, unfortunately for Kear Ted's greed got the better of him and wanted compensation which they refused, I thought he left when Ted did but I must have got the timing wrong.

I like the way some just take a rumour and assume he must be one of those mentioned foolishly by our chairman. I would remind some that Sunday was his first game for several weeks and correct me if I am wrong but did he not stay on the field despite a serious injury, so why should we doubt his commitment.

They wouldn't pay it, so they didn't want him that much. But why should we just hand over our coach for free? Dewsbury won't even let us get as far as even talking to their coach!

It wasn't halfway through the season though, it was near the end of July with only a handful of games left to play, We had nothing left to play for realistically and it was obvious that Kear's contract was not being renewed, Broadbent could have overseen what was left of the season so no compensation was really needed,

Don't you think it might have looked better on Ted if he'd just said go on John your leaving any way in a couple of month, go and fill your boots in France, it's the least we can do for all you've done for us, with regards to them not wanting to pay for him there in an exclusive club called SL where I would imagine they had a wide range of candidates, and for me it was more a case of what they could do for him, more than what he could do for them, just my opinion.

Ted was doing what he thought best for our club. You may not agree but that's what he thought at the time.

It was the fans that helped get Kear in last time. Ted wanted James Lowes who was assistant in some God forsaken place at that time.

It wasn't Ted that wanted him in as much as what Steve Ferris did, and it was only when the penny dropped that Lowes wasn't interested that Ferris turned to Kear after having a word with Kears agent David Howes, the rest is history as they say.

Iv'e already stated on two occasions to getting my dates wrong, what more can I say.
We clearly have different opinions regarding Ted and his dealings with the club, Catalans did not want him till the start of the 2011 season, Ted had told Kear that they would not pay out his remaining contract for 2011 which Kear accepted, yet Ted still insisted for compensation of £20.000 not £15.000 as stated by you from Catalan's, so by that reasoning he would have been paying for a new coach with Kear's saved salery. If your top sentence is a back handed apology I will reluctantly accept it
