Maybe he isn't injured and if not then why isn't he playing? Is it a contract issue?
Supposedly a good standard big SL prop who is in his prime at 29 who has won silverware in the CC twice with Hull. However he never seems to get a mention from the coach as a consideration to bring in with a pack that has just been mullered by Catalan. Meanwhile Chester admits that Trinity had tried to take Catalan down the middle and failed then leaves out a 6 foot 5 tall 18 stone experienced prop from the 21 man squad?
If he's not doing it on the training field to get selection then he's going the same way as Ian Kirke who I think was a poor signing...

Maybe he's injured or maybe he's not but he was doing okay last season and this up till lock down so who knows, maybe the CEO will come on here and give us it from the thread to the needle, or maybe not, one thing I do know though is that not only are you a bit premature but are also doing him a great disservice by comparing him to Ian Kirke.

I think I'd start with Crowther at 9 for the extra defence and put K Wood on the bench.
Think Fifita is better as an impact sub so swap him and Kopzcak
Maybe ask Arona to prop and put Batchelor on the bench too instead of Tangata
Other than that I'd agree, so my side looks like:
Walker
Senior Tupou Croft Hampshire
Miller Jowitt
Kopzcak Crowther Navarette
Ashurst Pitts
Westerman
K Wood, Fifita, Arona, Batchelor
Missing out:
Kirmond, Tanginoa, Tangata, Bailey

Yet you never offer an alternative or a way of funding it. It’s to easy to just call players journeymen, it’s meaningless.

| My interpretation of journeyman is players who are not good enough to hold a position down in a team so they move from club to club, or players who are way past there best who come to a club for a final pay out .If it's still not clear take a look at players who have come to us over the last 2 years .Forget the the second rower who was like a breath of fresh air.Who we now have decided is a prop .

| Forgive me if I’m wrong but aren’t they the type of signings that we have to make due to finances available?
Yes we’d all love to go out and sign top players in their prime but will always find it difficult to attract those players.
I think we’ve done ok the last few years...plenty of signings have worked out...we’ve had a decent record of getting the best out of players I’d say?

| We do tend to sign pkayers who have had their best spell at a club and then offered a shorter contract because of lack of form.
Our second signinhs normally represent a player who can cover a number of ppsitions but can not hold down a regular position.

Think if I'm not mistaken listening to Chester on trinity tv press conference before game last week he mentioned a player had not come back to training yet because of illness in his family he didn't say who it was but could this be Chris Green and the reason why he isn't been considered yet

That's the common consensus, however he was in the Toronto squad that beat Huddersfield in the last round (although he was an unused interchange) so is therefore cup tied
He may also be injured

There’s no journeymen in there
Unless we’ve brought Grey Vianne out of retirement
Now he was a journey man

| Quote ="PopTart"Which ones are journeymen?'" i wouldn’t class players as journeymen, they move from club to club to do a job for that club, what I would say on recruitment is are they better than what we’ve got
Gigot and walker are they better than max or rocky not imo and not needed
Josh wood/ Randall
Tangata/ fafita, kopcheck
Westerman/ ashurst or arona
Atkins / toupo or lynn ten years ago I’d say yes
Danny brough probably better in the mind but not in the body
Kaye / bjb kershaw
What we have ended up with is players who have had good careers but do they still have that hunger to do it again also if you check
The age of the forwards apart from crowther and batch all of them are pushing 30 odd

If you are saying the ones on the left were not needed because of the ones on the right then that is partly answered by injuries.
Walker was signed when Hampshire was set to leave. So actually Hampshire is the journeyman of those two.
Tangata was cover for players leaving and imho is better than Hirst and an injured Huby
Westerman possibly though at his best he definitely brings more skill than we have and Arona had a long term injury. Crowther might be that guy but I haven't seen those ball skills consistently.... But I'd be prepared to find out.
Kay was covering long term injuries and proves his case by 1 playing well and 2 there is no one else left.
Brough was a risk. I never liked it but it might have worked. Unfortunately not a success really.
Atkins again was cover which to be honest I think Croft is good enough to be now but with Arundal out for so long we needed someone else.
Gigot time will tell. He's clearly been very good recently, but I'm not sure he's the guy for us yet.
I think it's easy to forget how low we were on numbers last season. A clean up of contracts is probably needed next season.

I made a point on recruitment that the players we are bringing in are no better than what we have so how do you expect for the team or squad to improve. So surprisingly your correct the ones on the left should of not been got and better players should of been brought in. In case you hadn’t noticed the age of most of the pack and a lot of the recruits brought in we’re 30 plus and if you think we’ve taken a step forward you must have your hands over your eyes so the signings on the left have made no difference and we’re not needed
