| Quote ="PopTart"For me Washbrook is just one of those players every team needs.
Personally I don't think he's bee poor before at all.
He wasn't a stand off, but we all knew that.
Our pack, if we can keep it together is very good.
=#FF0000=#FF0000Anderson, McShane and Scruton are a great front row
D Smith as a back rower is good to keep especially as he is young.
Kirmond I like but I just feel he is on the downward slope.
Washbrook, just like Henderson and others before him, is not flash but is needed.
I think he IS hard to replace as teams tend to keep that type of player as they don't cost big money and are loyal because of the type of person they are.
If he went of course we would carry on but I'd rather keep him.'"
I wouldn't say great PT but i agree with everything else.

I am an out and out Anderson fan and I think he would fit in well with any other club in Super League.
Scruton has been good but not always top of his game but he does long minutes for us so he might do better with better support
McShane isn't great but is the best we've had for a long time imho.
So great in terms of Neil Fox great....of course not.
Great in terms of, very good for us, yes I think so.

| Anderson is good for us, but I can't see the top SL clubs chasing him.
As for McShane, I disagree that he is one of the best hookers we've had in a long time. Aiton, Obst, Rinaldi IMO were better.

Riley back to Wire would have been a popular move with Hull and Wakefield fans.

I was a big fan of Aiton but he was too slow with his pass. Massive in defence.
Rinaldi good but past it by the time we had him.
Obst was a scrum half playing hooker. Had plenty of criticism in the role.
I prefer McShane

If that was the case, I think I'd take it.
It would give Anakin his opening and strengthen us in other areas too.

Immediately or end of season. Washbrook OOC end of season so they wouldn't have to swap a player at that point.

It's an interesting one. Washbrook will be a huge loss but Whiting's ability to cover numerous positions will be a gain.
Regarding Annakin, we have to give this guy a new contract. Question is - would he sign one?

Why we we swap a player for a player who is OCC.
Be really disappointed if this happens, whiting is a class above Washbrook, injuries have held him back though.

Maybe he does not mean that both deals' are linked to each other, just coincidence that one player is going one way and the other player happens to be going the other, that's assuming they are both done deals.

| IMO not a good deal, Whiting has been plagued by injuries for the last couple of years and doesn't look a shadow of his former self.

| I can't see Whiting agreeing to come to us at this stage. (Is he out of contract?)
You'd think a player would wait to see what happens in the playoffs first.

Definitely.
Clubs in the middle 8 will be fighting for scraps when they secure SL status, with the top 8 being in a position to secure the better players and very likely lure and players who may face an uncertain future, further widening the gap between the top 8 and the rest.
Yet another flaw with the all new "every second counts" structure

| I've got nothing against Whiting as a player, as has been said a good utility player who can cover a number of positions, but for me that's part of the problem with the type of player we already have. There are too many 'Jack of all trade, masters of none' in our squad. Maybe 5 or 6 of them suffer from not quite being good enough to play at full back, wing, centre, in the halves and hooker positions etc. then end up playing all of those and never quite hitting the spot so to speak. I also think that many of them looked good at their previous clubs because they had better players around them and got 'carried' along. Put them all together and maybe that's part of the reason why we are struggling.

| You are really undervaluing Whiting, take injuries away and play in the backrow and you have an very good SL player, really consistent, good defence and runs really good lines. It's no coincidence that since Whiting has come back from injury our performances have improved.

I also rate him.
If or WHEN we stay up, and if this is true, we have a very good, proven SL player on our hands.
