thought cookie had a really good game. his distribution was good, his defence was spot on. heard good things about him around the club. never seemed to stop talking all through the game.

Well thats good to hear and i hope it continues.

I always thought it unfair to judge Paul Cooke before he had the time to gell with new teammates and then judge his fitness after he missed a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury - not exactly conducive to fitness training and after being banished from training with H.K.R.
I wasn't at the game yesterday but the irony of the display being against the side that caused such a reaction from Wakefield followers after the Challenge Cup loss wasn't lost on me.
Well done coach,conditioner,coach driver,turnstile operators and players for working hard and reaping the rewards.

Thats a fair point, can i judge him on is past "gelling" with previous teamates and the ones he walked away from at FC and those at KR who he let down then, some players just can't help themselves and i don't believe for one minute it will be any different this time.

I realise that Cookie carries baggage and that he is hated by many co-FC fans but he is a great player. Hull Fc's left hand side was devastating with him playing but we have been rudderless since his departure. I am no expert but I dont think he and Morgan saw eye to eye at HKR, but look how inconsistent they are without him. And if you want to see his influence in Hull at either team - look at his derby match record - I think he only lost 1 of 8.

All the best players have that ability to look like they have time on their hands. I remember watching Andy Gregory - year after year, and even when getting on in years - he always seemed to have time to stop and read a newspaper before anyone would get near to tackle him and, as an opposition supporter, it used to frustrate the hell out of me as to why no-one would just run up and smash him - but they didn't.

Paul Cooke has that element of 'time'. He makes up for his apparent lack of pace through his reading of the game and his ability to make good choices of either passing or kicking.
