It's a decent signing for our team though, added SL experience and depth to a squad our size is always welcome

When you look at the Leeds squad you see 7 in their squad that can play effectively at prop. We have 4 - two of which are injured. Hopefully its the final piece of the jigsaw that gets sorted within the next week for pre-season training and the boxing day match where we wipe the floor with Leeds!

Good signing for Cas, as he would have been for us; still a destructive runner and could do damage against tired defenders. Has a lot of penalties in his game mind you, and it could be argued that he's a bit long in the tooth to learn new tricks.

He was one of the names I was told about by the way, so I'm guessing that Cas were prepared to pay him more than us.

I would have been happy with him. Think he would have complemented what we already have.

every fan of a small squad team welcome players with SL experience - I can't say you'd have turned him down if he knocked on the door Kinley??? what harm can it do to have more players? you've got 2 first choice front rowers anyway, as have we. Nobody would turn down a third in the mix...

We actually have four props who, in my opinion, would take the field before Mason.
If Mason was that good he would never have left Saints. He's a decent prop but would be fifth choice at Wakefield.

Of course we need one certainly but I don't think it's the end of the world if we don't sort it straight away.

Mason would of been on the bench alot for us because of Amor, Raleigh and Poore so probably why he joined Cas

He's a decent prop there's no doubt about that. I think he'd have been 4th at best here but still would have added much needed competition for places. I'd prefer Kirke that's assuming we're in for him

You may be right Dave, I just think he's had his day and many believe his interests lie elsewhere.
I think there will be better options if not now then during the season, although I'm not overly impressed with any of the names we have come up with on here.
My track record on picking decent props based on last years predictions are far from impressive though!!!

Think the prop we get depends on wages offered which depends on a certain Mr Johns and Mr Mellor leaving

I agree. I think if one of those two leave it would be for the 2nd forward we are looking at. I believe we are trying to get a couple of the young lads out on loan deals to free up the bit extra needed for our primary target. Maybe the link up with Donny may be a help with that.
