Well sadly for me it is true and why wouldn’t a death in the last two years not be predictable considering the excess deaths reported. I am going with the current flow which is one way depressing departure after depressing departure and no amount of humour could consider this funny so if it is ok with you I won’t try it.

I started in the printing industry and we always used to say that if you stay at your first employer you will always be 'the apprentice'.

Some people don't mind this because they have no ambition other than to do their job and remain in their comfort zone.

Only a small number of those who do stay rise to the top, and that takes a very thick skin and a great deal of determination.

Most move on tho pastures new after finishing their time served to places where they are a recognised craftsman, mature in both ability and personality and with none of the baggage of their younger years.

Batch possibly fits into that category and he himself rather than WP or MC felt he needed to move on to really progress as a player and as a person.

It happens in reverse, we've picked up loads of those.

It's just a part of the game, you win some you lose some. What can't be denied IMHO is that we got back our investment with Batch as we did with Tom, neither owed us. If we lost Murphy in 12 month time, that wouldn't be the case.

I said earlier I think they have done a fantastic job of selling the club to him.
On paper I don't think they are much if any better than us.
However reading Batch it would appear that he's got ambition and so have HKR.
Until Trinity ditch the poor old me culture the club will have young player after player looking at moving on.

You've snagged a bargain in Batch, 100% effort every game and a very skilful 2nd row who can, as you saw yesterday, put a decent stint in at centre. Our biggest loss last season IMHO...I'd have kept him over TJ.

Yes agree with all that. I would also add that he is an excellent goal kicker to add to his talents.
People rave about his brother at Saints but I think if he was with the same club he would be at another level.

I've seen both Joe and James play since they were 8, Joe played in my eldest lads team and I even coach James at U8/9/10's, Both are very good goal kickers and both have played every position as a junior, I would agree that at Junior level James showed more potential than Joe, but this is a case of coaching and Joe has spent some time working under different coaches at different clubs and maybe is the better player now, one things for sure I don't think we saw the best of James at Wakefield.

The lads moved on , end of , we’ve wished him well for the future and for me that’s it . I’m looking forwards to the next lad who we bring through the ranks and the next and so on , no good moping , we’ve a table / mountain to climb starting with Wigan
