As you're probably aware I was a bit of a lone voice on here when I said Finn was the best signing of last season. I've always been a fan and for one reason more than any other. When you are so lacking in speed, agility and size as Finn and you still manage to carve out a 15 year career then you know that player has to have heart and brains. What makes that especially good is that age does nor affect those two qualities in fact it enhances them. Because Finn's game is totally based around the muscle in his head he only improves as the team improves.

There is no doubt in my mind that when Finn is on we look a better team - as yet that doesn't necessarily equate to winning but we at least look more organised. Maybe he is now to old to build ateam around but he can certainly still be the foundations of one.

If Campbell had given a no try on the field I suspect the video ref would've concurred. Ad it happen had the Leigh player not tackled Jones-Bishop in the air he would landed a yard or so further forward and he would've been over the line anyway.

Leigh benefitted from incorrect calls too, the two on one steal on Johnstone, Hampshire traping the ball and a Leigh player coming from an offside position to claim the ball. Trinity have been on the end of rough calls and sometimes you get some back.

Agree there Vasty, he did have a good game, and think we really missed him last week.

Don't think the Hadley experiment worked, and some of his passing was poor, and having two pivots on the bench meant for increased work rate of the forwards.

Without sounding biased here, I think BJB's was definately a try, he was initially short, but was still moving, without the need of a second effort. He was also taken out in the air when he took the ball.

A lot has been (correctly) said about our drop in intensity. I certainly don't think there was a fitness issue, because we have been going as strong in the final five minutes, as the first five. For my money, it was because Trinity upped their game, and we were on the back foot for the entire second half. It's very difficult to get any momentum going when the opposition is coming at you, in both attack and defence, all the time!

Looking forward to Trinity coming to ours, for another tight game.

Had your man not tackled BJB in the air the try would have probably been scored under the sticks. Food for thought.

Well that was a roller coaster - and you can only hope that the second half performance inspires the players to believe in themselves; nilling a side that have just put 24 points on you is quite a turnaround. And I don't buy the Leigh drop in intensity story - we stopped them from playing with our line speed, pressure in defence and aggression.

Standouts for us - Arona, Johnstone and Ashurst again, with a special mention for Hirst, who I thought did really well in his first SL outing; someone on the coaching staff really needs to find a way to get the team to play the way they did in the 2nd half for a full 80, which has yet to happen this season.

One of the thinks that pleased me on the comeback last night, we didn't look like we were playing desperate panic rugby, where we felt the need to score on every set.

It was like a different 13 walked onto the pitch for the second half. Besides improved effort and enthusiasm to me the main difference was how we moved the ball because the first half was one drive mainly but the second half we opened up the game by throwing the ball out wide and the opportunities came. Leigh definitely turned up and they are a good side which who play entertaining rugby.
An excellent game to be at and thought 4500 for a Thursday night and also on sky was a good turnout.
Cracking result well done.

Great game of rugby league, really enjoyed it, like these close rollercoaster games better than going for a run for the old ticker. Seems to be a good spirit in the camp, didn't let the heads go down when behind but picked up in the second half. Went with the whole family and had a good night
Thought Michael Carter came across well on the radio yesterday morning and on Sky, a measured sensible approach, which is what is needed. I don't listen to headlines in the paper or sky, they live on sensationalism and report on any half story or indeed no story at all.

There's an old saying, (they are always the best

) that "you play as well as you are allowed to play." And that was us in the second half. Despite some strange calls from the ref, I thought the final scoreline accurately reflected the eighty minutes - unfortunately!

For sure - your lads blew us away in the 1st half, and we did the reverse in the 2nd; sometimes that's the way it goes.

I also agree about the ref - he wasn't great in general.

I'm not sure what Terry Kelly thinks that image shows. He might as well have shown it two frames earlier to show he didn't ground the ball.

It finished over the line. Ref thought so. Video ref thought so.........it's a try.

Even if it wasn't a try it should have been a penalty try because without the tackle in the air bjb would have definitely scored. So , as we missed the conversion we were robbed of 2 points.

on further evidence, the ball did touch '4 blades' of white grass, so it was definitely a try.

I think there's still a bit of forward momentum after this frame, but being perfectly honest its not cast iron proved one way or the other, the ref said try, the vid ref couldn't disprove it so that's that, there is no other mechanism available to change it.
There are far more obvious no try's given as try's than that.
Nah, the game goes to sh1! when you give officials the opportunity to make bad calls.
