I trust him and at the end of the day fans & folk of Wakey have to decide whether we want a club or not. At this moment Mr Carter has nothing to gain and everything to lose

| I honestly don't think Ted R or Andy G came in to this intending to break the club. I'm sure Carter is the same.
It's a different reality when you come to actually making it work. It's hard.
If I won the lottery I'd back/buy the club as well
But I still wouldn't know how to run it. I'd have to employ people who I think can.
And when you do that, you are sometimes let down.

| The threat to the club is real, the possibility of further players leaving is very real!
The call to action and the plea for investment is not idle nor is it a ploy!
You know what they say about when the going gets tough. . . .
Time for us to get/keep going and start someone else going as well!

I honestly don't think the people of Wakefield are the ones to look towards for putting things right.
The people of Wakefield have shown their efforts to the club by turning out in their thousands at every home match to watch a very mediocre team. The have bought merchandise and buy drinks and pies.
There's a recession on out there and money for a lot is tight.
I agree keep let's keep supporting and most no doubt will BUT investment is needed from Mr Big. He has to be found. Selling Ben Cockayne for £30000 will help, for how long, a month? putting season tickets up will help but the same numbers won't buy and if team is ravished, how many of the non season ticket holders will pay to watch next season.
No, things may be put right again but let's not kid ourselves that it's sunshine and roses after that because it isn't! It always going to be a struggle because we are not big enough. Simple as that. The fact that we're having a 12000(?) capacity stadium (whenever that happens) speaks volumes for the ambition of the club.
I'm just spelling things out as I see them but, surely somewhere , globally there is someone who would like to invest in a sleeping giant. If we can still wake the bugger up that is!

| I heard some stories last night, some of which would make your toes curl up and some of which would give you hope for the future.
I'm not sure what I can share yet, but I'll try to find out.
From what I gather though, MC is doing his level best to secure the club in both the immediate and the long term, and a name that was once touted as the saviour may be back in the frame.

Toe curling, too right.
In the frame, sounds like some sort of double glazing slang.

That's the point though. It was a REALLY good deal but not enough took it up to make it work properly. I would have paid more I think but it's easy to say that in hindsight. I'm going to give some back this weekend by buying a ticket even though I have a season ticket. I know not everyone can do it but if all season ticket holders did that it would be over £80k extra in one go.
And as for the players being ravished........I realise it's a typo but I don't think we'll be allowed to give that kind of benefit in kind to the players.

| Well they say a lot happens in a week, I go on holiday and the proverbial really hits the fan. Those telltale signs that were so causally dismissed by the club and a number of supporters over the last year have finally caught up with Trinity. I mentioned a few weeks ago that Elston was in the wrong job, a career in politics beckons with the amount of spinning he has been conjuring. A lot was made of Andrew Glovers statement that Trinity would be spending the full cap next year, well perhaps more pertinent was the statement that a situation similar to which he stumbled across two years ago when he put his money where his mouth was would never be allowed to happen again yet here we are, right on the brink!
I welcome the honesty the new chairman has shown and I am fully in support of offloading players the club cannot afford (even though I may not like it). If supporters want the better players to stay its up to them. Take the ball home and it’s a sure sign that Kirmond et al will not be wearing the Red, White and Blue of Wakefield Trinity next year.
I am surprised a share ownership hasn’t been proposed, with the Supporters Trust already set up there is a vehicle that supporters can pledge X amount of pounds which the Trust can use to by a position onto the board. It’s entirely possible that the situation that Trinity now find themselves in would still have occurred, but maybe things could’ve been rectified sooner without it culminating in to a £400k hole in the budget.
I have no doubt the money that Trinity have paid players not to play for the club will have contributed and that’s something that needs looking into. It’s a diabolical way for a club with limited resources to use what is available to them. The fact that Agars whim with certain players was tolerated should not have happened. Yes he may not have wanted the players but it shouldn’t have been to the detriment of the club financially. It perhaps karma that he’s probably going to end up with a patched up squad in one of the most critical seasons of the last 6 years (if he’s still here) because of it
In terms of money saving I would’ve not retained Lee Smith and used Cowling at centre next year, As much as I like Lauitiiti I would’ve not renewed his contract (not sure if this was an option), sold Cockayne despite his excellent early season form (this may still happen).I reckon there is a £100k saving in that lot.

I too have heard these stories and they certainly are not good, you are very right not to share.
This guy has shown interest in I don't know how many clubs, but yet is still at Guiseley.
I won't get too excited about this one "AT THE MOMENT".

Khlav, this would be good in the short term; but it would simply take us a couple of months further to pay the wages. I've said earlier Mr BIG is a MUST we have to find him. The last time we had one was Mr Ronnie Fell in the 1960's and we know what happened then.
Honesty, hardwork, good intentions and endeavour are sadly not enough in SL today. Let's hope there is some substance to what Bren said earlier because this club needs sorting out PROPERLY once and for all!

Parkin & Kitrick have "asked for the accounts", not that there will be much to view except the black hole, but still the first step on the road to investment.
I take it you heard the same?

| Daddycool, a money bags Parkin-esque investor aside is there any potential investment coming in or is it looking like (in the short term at least) if we are going to bridge the £400k gap; it will be from those already involved - supporters and present board or the sale of players?

| Now we have sold Smith and possibly Cockayne and backroom staff leaving, any idea as to how much has been saved and how much still to find towards the £400,000

Carter said in his press conference that the 400K was AFTER Smiths fee, so that makes no difference. Cockayne hasn't gone yet so we can't count that yet either. Other than Longo who goes after sundays game, so has no real effect til next payday, have any other backroom staff gone since the announcement? Has their been any redundancies?
So to answer your question, probably none raised yet really, but maybe a little pending.
