I knoi how you feel. It happens all the time at Giants games and is embarrassing. The number of times the ref gets booed and i am stood there thinking it looked like a good decision to me. I have learnt to not suffer a knee jerk reaction after a game at Bradford about 6 years ago.
I was booing the ref ( bentham ) and calling him a cheat. Then watched the game on telly when i got home and realised i only disagreed with one decision in 80 minutes after booing him for about 75% of the game.

I think as fans at the game most people see things in a very one-sided manner, being objective is very hard for ardent fans.
On review it's a bit easier to be more objective.
I've watched it several times and it doesn't change the opinion I had at the game, that both passes were forward.
What's annoying is that the same ref gives 2 different decisions for exactly the same offence, but as I said earlier, it's done now and in the papers it says Huddersfield won, and tomorrow it will be wrapped around someone's fish and chips.
Time to move on and focus on not making the same mistakes we made next week in the South of France.

What a silly thing to say; towards the end of the game, your forwards were shot and only some scrambling defence and a bit of luck saved the game.
I realise you're probably trolling, but I would caution against arrogance like this - it is very likely to come back and bite you in the backside.

I think the only thing i would say about that is that it is easier to judge a short pass than a big looping one due to the momentum rule. We lost too Wigan a couple of years with O'Loughlin passing two ( apparent) forward passes to the winger BUT whilst they may look forward from the terraces they are harder to pick up on the pitch because the ref is looking at the initial direction the pass comes out at rather than where the reciever catches it because of momentum.
Just one of those things really unless you are Wigan or Leeds you will be on the receiving end of more bad forward pass decisions than good ones.

What a great supporter you are. Rather than praise your team for a win you try to concentrate on proving the other team were rubbish.
You effectively imply your team didn't play professionally or do their best and nearly got caught out for it. Bet they love you.
You really need to take a look at yourself.
As for the game.....
We lost because we didn't score enough points, but I'm happy we played well.
Let's move on now and see what we can do against Catalan.

| Everytime I hear about the "momentum rule" i get my latest copy of the rules of RL out, I read and read it, but never can i find a rule called "The momentum Rule"
We lost to apparently the best team in SL by 2 points, it was the 4th game of the season, my wife and kids are still alive and well, bigger shizzle happens in the world.
I'm proud to be a wakey fan today

| Its not the fact of the forward passes from both sides one given the other not what does it for me is the laying on in the tackle that Shudds got away with it was criminal. But hey ho we live to fight another day and the great thing was the side never gave up until the final hooter.Another day and we will win a game like that and it shows the spirit in the side is up with the best by keeping going for the full 80 trying to get the win.

You need a new copy of the laws, this is it... although it isn't labelled the 'momentum rule' to be honest.
[i Quote The direction of a pass is relative to the player making it and not to the actual path relative to the ground. A player running towards his opponents’ goal line may throw the ball towards a colleague who is behind him but because of the thrower’s own momentum the ball travels forward relative to the ground. This is not a forward pass as the thrower has not passed the ball forward in relation to himself. This is particularly noticeable when a running player makes a high, lobbed pass.'" [/i

| both our try and Huddersfields 3rd try were forward the standard of refereeing in Rugby League is an embarrassment to a great sport the rule changers season in season out are an embarrassment the different rules NRL/SL/International are an embarrassment
We play one rule one week and forget about it the week after the linesmen are a complete joke when is somebody going to sort this farce out and I am not just talking Sundays game its week in week out in almost every game its past a joke the idiots on sky don’t help
On another note we played well very well but the bombed chance from Smith just before half time and the missed kicks cost us the game Huddersfield had the decisions on Sunday it will go our way during the season but does that make the lousy standard of refereeing right.
Say what you want about RU but we see very few forward passes missed and the standard of refereeing is high and we never see a ref officiating his home town club on that I will say no more

But isn't that part of the fun of it all? The pantomime nature of it all. Wouldn't be half as much fun if we all stood there nodding our heads wisely, praising what will probably turn out to be a good decision. And I bet the refs love it. I would. If I was on the pitch making decisions that I thought were correct, the sound of the baying crowd would make me smile. It may even make me, for example, blow for a forward pass that I wasn't 100% on but would be crucial, knowing that I'd let one go not long before.

Union is a much slower paced game, punctuated bwith bouts of kicking to one another plus mauls and rucks, wher the ball is effectively taken up by one player.
If this were a Union forum, there would be plenty of other stuff to moan about, not least the lack of open attacking play.

Not many forward passes due to the fact that half the time the ball is being booted from one fullback to another and back again (at least that's how I always see the good old game of rah, rah).
Knock-ons galore in Union though that don't get pulled up due to the nature of the game.
I'd rather watch a game of RL with umpteen refereeing mistakes than watch a game of rugby union with none anyway.

'" I'd like to think there's a few Wakey posters on here that personally know me and think I have both of those qualities, but when I started reading this thread I thought I'd join in with similar kinds of posts ie unrealistic and to put it mildly a bit daft. To be honest I expected a game very similar to what happened although it was a bit too close for my liking. I still think we played a little worse than our games against Wigan and Saints as we threw a few more wayward passes but I would say we played better than we did against London. I take nothing away from Wakey they played well and maybe a draw would have been a fair result. I don't have anything against Wakey at all like a lot of Giants fans seem to do, and i'm especially pleased for you that you seem to be out of financial troubles and your crowds seem to be improving. Add to that a good friend of mine James Stephenson has recently started working at the Wildcats and I sincerely wish him all the best as i've never known anyone put more time and effort into our great game than him yet he's not received any recognition(that I know of). Add to that my Father used to play for Wakefield so if anything I do hold a [size=50little[/size soft spot for Wakey. Anyway that's enough loving, good luck for the rest of the season except against us of course later in the year.

Exactly, at least we haven't got the point where refs blatantly ignore infringements to prevent the game becoming even more of a bore fest than it already is, maybe the odd dubious penalty to a team thats getting mullered but nothing so blatant as that.
