The problem with the cosyness at the previous top table, was that it was proved to be detrimental to the good running of the club, and that many of those where not qualified to do the jobs they had fortuitously found themselves doing.

Saying all this, RL is a pretty small world and there are plenty who are going to be friends, I couldn't give a monkeys if they are as long as they are the right men for the job.

Still is the problem. I've said it from the start, AG does not have the money required to do what we all want him to do. This is made worse if what I'm told is true that AG made himself a major obstacle when Parkin wanted in.

Now I'm not saying Parkin would have been better, but I do think money would not be as big an issue.

We are still in SL, we are more stable, we have a plan, we have a strengthening squad, matchday revenue is going in to the club coffers, e are in a position to attract spectators via the season ticket offer, and even if we don't get 2500, it'll be more than the 100 or so we had last year.

Dont know about the rumours regarding AG, so cant comment. The thing though with Parkin was, if he was really really really interested he would be the owner, so either he wasnt that interested or he was interested only in part of the deal, and that appeared to be the ground.
As far as i can see, there are two ways we can go forward, with the money and owner we have and the people of the city behind the club or with a sugar daddy with a load of cash.
We are part way down the path with the first and nowhere with the second, so its a bit of a no brainer.
As ive posted on numerous occasions, AG doesnt have the ££££ needed to bankroll us, what he has got though is the ability to improve the general efficiency of the club and market us better (and that will all pay dividends), but until the people of wakefield get of their s we will always be a small club that sells most of its best players.

My point was that the Agar situation gives us no cofidence that the Murphy situation will be done for the benefit of "The Club". Ultimately some individual or individuals in a position of control will do exactly as they like and sod the club/fans/potential fans.

I think you make a good point in the regards that the appointment of Agar is always (in some fans eyes) going to put individuals in a tight corner, thats for them to sort out IMO.
What we must remember is that with all sports clubs, what's best for the fans, isn't always best for the club, and if the club get it wrong big styleee, then decisions such as the one mentioned can come back and bite HARD!

i get the impression that agar isn't in the chair when it comes to comings and goings just yet. it's early days for him.

Glover did say on twitter that Collis is Agar's first signing so I'm thinking RA is in control of the squad now.

can't see how that could be true though. he signed about a week after agar being announced. agar is our third choice man, so unless he was sounded out way before he signed for us then i fail to see how he could have been really involved in the collis deal given that we must have been speaking to him for weeks and weeks. he may have rubber stamped it when he came in, after the deal was done if you like, but i cannot see how he was an agar signing.

You mean the Parkin that was buying the club and then gave back word at the last minute leaving is us in the proverbial until Glover came in, isn't he the man that only seemed interested only if we were guaranteed SL status, who also seemed to be more interested in Newmarket than anything else.
