To be honest I would have thought it pretty easy to see why we've let him go - he wasn't getting a game. Bradford offered a good deal and we took it. It has nothing to do with franchises or anything else. He was surplus to requirements and we got something for him.

If he thinks its obvious we wont be in sl next year as you like to put it, why did he sign a 3 year deal which would have taken him one year into the championship?

I'm only guessing mate, don't get me wrong I'm as surprised as anyone that BJ is being shipped out. Assuming they were looking at Eastmond and are still looking for similar then BJ would be surplus to requirement and thus a drain I suppose. Even if we have the money to keep BJ I don't see the point in doing it just because we can so that's fair enough. Believe me where spending serious money is concerned the jury is still definitely out on Andrew Glover for me. I certainly expect to see him replaced with similar or better or more needed or it will be hard for even his most ardent supporters to explain away. As you say it's a strange one but for now I think it's fair to credit them with a sensible motive.

Mate of mine, a Cas fan, says that Ryan McGoldrick told him he has signed a contract with Wakey prob why they've allowed Jeffries to leave then.

That would be the assumption IF Bulls were looking for a short term fix, but they have given BJ 18 months.

If Bulls are building, they go for Wildie...if they are looking short term (or panicking), they go for BJ.

There is little sense in what they have done; don't they have their own junior production line? Conversely, can't they attrct a big name, proven, marquee player?

BJ on 18 months has no logic. It's not like they need to worry about licensing.

I heard that McGoldrick wants to stay at Cas for 2 more seasons after this then he will be entitled to a testimonial and a good payday.

There is just enough equivocation in that statement to give you some wiggle room.

Personally, I think you're reading it wrong, but it doesn't really matter, since the deal seems to work for everyone.

It's a shame to see Ben leave. Although he's inconsistent when he does have a good game we win, which can't be said about Lee/Hyde/Wildie.

Far be it from me to point out the obvious flaw in that but we have won games this season without Jeffries in the side and all three of them have played well in those victories.

Personally I see it as an act of desperation from Bradford, they were percieved as having recruited well and their fans were expecting good things this season and it has not worked out for them with Marc Herbert being a big let down, if they have offered BJ the moon on a stick you can hardly blame him for taking it, also as you say we are now in a position due to us having the options now which in the past we have been denied, lets hope all three parties benefit.

Yeah they have played well as they are all consistent the thing is losing BJ means we are losing a potential gamebreaker and someone who brings a bit more organisation to the attacking game.

Can't get my head around it either. For all thats bad about BJ I still think he is still head and shoulders above any other half back at our club. Also for all that Wildie,Hyde and Lee have done this season I think just about every sensible poster on here would accept it is the lack of quality in our halves that is the priority that needs addressing first in order to improve our squad. So if a replacement is on his way quickly then its all well and good but if not then it wories me and sends out a clear signal that we are already accepting a future in the championship.

its blatantly obvious to anybody that has watched bradford that they need something in attack why not bj grate player on his day. and a genuinely nice guy as for wakey sure there will be some good news soon

Jarrod Sammut rumour has started once again. I doubt that he would leave Crusaders for Wakey on a long-term deal, because our Super League future hasnt been guaranteed, however, we could sign him on a deal until the end of the season, with an option for another year or two if we stay up.

Nothing I've seen regarding Sammut would be of benefit to WT - but you never know
