Didn't realise there was a competition for 'bestest supporter ever' but there you go.

I'm not bothered about anything other than the first team thats your call but some of us like to think they may be first teamers in the future, but only if they recieve support now. You can't have it both ways can you.
If they had one for moaniest you would be in the running no doubt

| It's a combination of factors thats affected our attendance this season, Thornes park falling through, Sky games moved to saturday etc and the state of Belle Vue and we were still only a 1000 short of cas who never shut up about there crowds, so I wouldn't worry too much. It's been a long time since our great team and stadium of the 60s yet cas hkr had great teams in the 80s so we've more time to make up and generations lost. The biggest problem is BELLE VUE the worse ground by far in SL and the sooner we get the new stadium the better and we will kick on from there.

Yeah but Belle Vue isnt the reason we got less fans in 2009 than 2008, despite having a better team!

No misunderstanding - except on your part I'm afraid.
Because we didn't know whent the first team were going to play, we couldn't be certain of the day / time of the academy game. So, rather than give out duff info, they gave none.
Perhaps they could have hedged their bets, but as it was the game was going to be Saturday, then Friday, then Sunday, then Friday again before agreement was reached with Wigan.
The club sure get some stick for things they supposedly don't do - but then again how many have offered to come and join us at 7pm tonight when the entire future of the club is in the hands of the supporters?

No, but that's not as simple as you are suggesting. Sure there is the financial stuff, but I think you could add the following events to the list of reasons:
1 The collapse of the Thornes Park stadium - many people thought we were doomed from that point.
2 Adam Watene / Leon Walker - Although many have rallied around, there will be some who will have been put off by all the doom and gloom around the place.
3 Sky - we have had several 'big' matches on Sky which will certainly put some off.
But as for the financial stuff, my theory is that this affects the away support more than the home support. Most keen fans will have a season ticket, and will therefore attend the home games, but if they are going to be choosey about their away games, then a game at the delightful BV, in the rain, when shown on Sky, is not going to get a big crowd. FWIW I believe that there are answers that need to be considered as a game and not just club by club - but that is just my opinion.

Yes mate I see what PB meant now, I'm aware that the fixture wasn't totally clear as it was originally pencilled in for Saturday 2.30 and was then changed to Friday night after they knew the first team arrangements.
However, I still feel some info is better than none at all, just something along the lines of them having an upcoming home fixture against Wigan and to check websites or the local press for details and to get down and support the lads. I'm sure if something like that was being said as the lads were actually walking round the field then it may have caught people's attention.
Also, while on the subject of academy games and attendances, am I right in remembering in the days of Danny Brough and co that they once organised one of their own fixtures, promoting it, selling tickets, dancers, etc, etc... and ended up getting a very good turnout too?

It was against Halifax on a Sat afternoon but IIRC it was a bit after Broughy's time?
Around 1,000 turned up.

Definitely. They deserve a great crowd for the final.

Or you can post negative posts instead of adding to the debate, I don't see eye to eye with trinity most of the time but at least we try to debate.
