A wins a win but that was pretty poor to be honest. If Leigh had some forwards available so they didn’t fatigue as much at the end of each half we likely lose that.

Played well today

I couldn’t go but listened to the game which other than suggesting a scrappy performance also indicated that Kershaw appeared to lack the will to go for the line. This was also pointed out against Huddersfield therefore are they correct.

Tough game was that, Leigh were good value and gave a very good account of themselves, was a nervous last 15 minutes. Very dogged performance to get the points, not the prettiest but toughed it out which in games gone by we’d of folded. Thought James Bell and Adam Peats for Leigh were class.

It wasn’t a lack of desire he just hasn’t got that true wingers instinct. Can’t fault his effort he just lacks finesse.

With this going lad in the U19 coming through Lee will struggle I’m afraid

Unfortunately yes. He had a couple of runs into an open corner but lacked the confidence or maybe acceleration to get in. In one instance he actually lost the ball to the Leigh defender leaving our lads a bit flat footed to the counter attack. He also jumped up for a kick on their line and spilled the ball into the arms of a Leigh player giving them a counter attack again. Not a good day at the office really so I guess TJ will get his chance against Warrington. It must have been contagious as Lyne lost the ball going over in the same corner later

Leigh are a good team and for me the better team probably overall. But, you can’t be pretty in every game and we won.
Dave had his best game for ages and it proved to tilt it in our favour to me.
Kershaw will take the ball in all day but seems to lack confidence near the line.
No player had a bad game though, Leigh came to win and fancied their chances but we found a way to beat them, as the saying goes.

The problem we face is that Kay plays on the same side as Johnson and I don’t know how easy it is to swap from the left to right.

Was a poor win , but a win that over the last two season we would not have made.I am right in thinking we played some of the match with one interchange missing .,looked bad hope he is not out for a long time.Think Westerman going to take some replacing next year

Good summary. Simple truth is Leigh just lack match winners. Today Westy held the line along with Pitts, Dave turned the game and Lino delivered the killer punch. Just a few better players on the day made all the difference.

Lino definitely proving to be more of the asset that I’m sure Chester saw him as, got a bit of stick early on but he’s a real attacking threat and didn’t miss a conversion today if I’m not mistaken?

Yep...certainly not pretty and definitely not a patch on last weeks performance, but I'll take an ugly win any day of the week.
We will certainly need to play like we did last week to get anything out of Wire and Cas though

He’s a classy player, he makes mistakes because he takes chances. Now the chances are turning to gold more than they were. Best S/H since Finn 2018 and for me far more of a Trinity H/B than the recently canonised Sam Williams.

Yep I’m afraid that did not help his cause, a winger has to score those IMHO.

That said TJ is in a class of his own and so long as he is fit he’s a far better winger than either Kay or Kershaw or just about any SL winger.

He's top class, tackles everything and has good hands.

Good performance imho Leigh were definitely up for this like most teams in sport when a coach departs they always seem to step up a level. Let's not forget this Leigh side ran Wigan and Saints very close and had the chance to win both those games. When we fell behind in the second half we didn't panic and looked determined to win the game. Well played lads.
