| The country is in a financial mess and looks like it will be for some time to come - has to be right to share. Travel distance for people living in wakefield and castleford would be almost the same - probably easier route for cas fans . Ok the site would be in city of Wakefield - but hey it must be right on the border. And of course the place would be bouncing when it came to derby fixtures. Common sense says I !!!!!! Might i suggest a neutral light aubergine for the seat colour - not that it matters when you have an sitting on it - and by that i mean a bottom, not a type of person..

| Crikey - my last sentence has been messed with. the word booty has been replaced. I used a word beginning with 'a' followed by an 'r' and then an 's' and finally an 'e' if anybody can't work it out!!!!!

| Quote ="nottinghamtiger"Have I missed something? When did Wakefield have detailed planning permission passed? I thought NM was going through a Pulic Enquiry and therefore has no planning permission yet?
And I though GH has been given full planning permission? Aren't Cas now waiting for permission to be given to Opus to build on the WR site then funds will be available for building at GH?
Although neither stadium is guaranteed, I think the question is a bit of a presumption.'"
Didn't want this turning into a dick measuring contest, for reasons you have highlighted in your post.
So yes I suppose you have missed the point.

When well...it is as Nottinghamtiger pointed out.
As it is though, if they had to play in another stadium Cas would likely go to the Keepmoat.

GH is a long way off.
It depends on Opus obtaining PP for WR, which is far from straight forward.
As I am sure you know developers are looking at 3 sites in Cas for a supermarket, one of which is WR. What you may not be aware of is that it Opus who are investigating the 2 other sites.
If one of them comes off first, the WR development and GF are dead in the water!

Well considering most/all of the articles have said they will pass on the money once outline planning permission is given, which is a lot easier than you Wakefield fans like to make out it is.
Like I said though, even if they had to move out of Cas for a year or 2, it would be the Keepmoat in all likeliness.

| Happily share, I'd rather Cas get 3,000 each week at Wakey's ground than 6,000 down the Lane, in any division.

If one of the other Opus tarfets comes off first, there won't be a WR retail development. At all. And no GH.

| From a neutral point of view if its a choice of ground sharing or losing your super league status (which you will do if you dont deliver on the promises the club has made) then surely its a no brainer ?????

| This thread is a bit silly but it does have merit, if only to get Gronk spluttering out more of his awesome FACTS!
Personally I wouldn't mind sharing, on the proviso that following each Cas game, some kind of antibacterial wipe was provided at each seat, just to be on the safe side.

Heaven forbid I may have made something up, it's a hypothetical scenario for gods sake!!!! Unlike you with your facts, you still owe me £25 quid by the way!!!!
Why play in Doncaster when you can play at NM, would less people go to NM than trail to Doncaster, just to save face? (hypothetically, of course!!!)

| It's the same no brainer as it was when the idea was first mooted a couple of seasons ago. Just a shame it took so long for the penny to drop.
And I suspect that the owners will be delighted with the revenue that another tenant will bring in. Any bets on it being called simply Newmarket, with nary a mention in the title of either Wakey or Cas?

| As far as I'm aware "Newmarket" is the project name, the stadium naming rights will be sold off once building has started, if there's not already an existing agreement in place between Yorkcourt (the developers) and another company.
I would go as far as to say I'm almost 99% sure the stadium name WON'T contain the words "Trinity" or "Wildcats", it's not ours for one and there's the revenue we can raise from the naming, so as I said I doubt it will be in keeping with our clubs name/ any of our nicknames.
Personally I couldn't care less, I'm just dying for them to get the PI done and start building.
As a Sandal resident I've become accustomed living close to the ground. Might have to look at a move to Bottomboat/Stanley, ruffle a few feathers with the locals!

It's not a bold statement, it's a hypothetical statement based on an outcome that is possible.
And based on the structure of the question, it's aimed at Wakefield fans in order to ascertain the level of support for a groundshare at NM. You will get your chance when I put a cas version of the same question on your site.
I'm quite surprised it's 42-5 in favour so far from us.

If that were the case then surely it would make more sense to get a cleansing company to sponsor the naming rights, it would cost a fortune to detox the stadium every other week. Walker won't be happy if his trusts budget is spent on sanitising.
The Cillit BANG Stadium- every other week just wipe and the scum is gone!

| We should all hope that both clubs get their wishes. I can confirm that wmdc are trying to assist both clubs in getting their holy Grails, but time is running out for both clubs and real progress needs to happen - fast!

I think it would be safe to assume that the stadium will be named along the lines of the McAlpine/Galpharm/K.C./Stobart/Haliwell Jones/DW stadiums.

Congratulations William for yesterday, I look forward to burrow and Ali pulling on the R,W & B next season
The difference is that with the franchise announcement, there is a real hanging threat for both us or cas to deliver on the ground front.
The question I asked is obviously from a successful NM outcome point of view.

I'm almost certain, from an excellent source, that a large sponsor is already in place to take up the naming rights option.
