Apparently Season Ticket packages will be announced at Cas game as well so lets hope for some more forward thinking there.

Might even be pleased enough to turn up and hand some money over like the rest of us. Rather than sitting at home pontificating about games and players he's never seen.

Sad thing is Lupset is typical of your average Wakey person where the club is concerned.

I hope the positive news will continue to expand our fan base.

Alot of good vibes are being broadcast by the club right now and that can only have a positive influence. That said, games are not won on paper and the team we field next season will have to earn the respect (and I use that word loosely) of 'floaters' before they return and spend the money.

With the ground improvements at belle vue it will surely attract more speccies anyway.

They do and I don't want to ruin your pleasure in all this we have earned it but when bandwagon jumpers like lupset ride in on the back of them I despair. How long before he and his ilk turn on the club/players/coach again without as far as I can see contributing any time or money other than what they waffle on here.

Lupset isn't happy about who we are signing he's happy his chosen victim Kear has gone. Now he has time to pick his new targets, exciting times for him.

We need the folk of Wakefield to get behind the club we always have - problem is we have to many alleged fans like this who never go but will bad mouth at every given moment. Can't stand them personally.

I agree with you entirely but we like all clubs have these type of fans. (Lupset- I am sure you are a very loyal and dedicated fan!). The main thing is that we generate interest in Wakefield Wildcats in our own city. All supporters are equally important though in my opinion because their money is an important stream of revenue. If you get a club basher their £20 is equally important as a core supporter like you Vasty.

Two mates of mine were avid Wakey fans for years - followed them all over the country in wind rain or shine and never lost the faith, until the last few years, when the enthusiasm was drained out of them and they stopped buying ST's and eventually, stopped going altogether. I was boozing with them on Saturday night and as a result of the positive vibes the AG take-over has created, both are coming back next season.

It's entirely unscientific I know, but perhaps useful as a representative sample? I just hope more do the same.

It's a well made point though, for the last few years in particular (but admittedly for decades) we have given the people of Wakefield no reason to come, TR alienated many supporters new and old.
AG has given people a reason to come, from the "cosmetic" matchday improvements and other income bringing initiatives to the team building for next season.
We could have improved the squad for this season, but purely from an investment point of view it was likely to be dead money.
For what my opinions worth, I think AG has played a blinder, he's spent where he needed to, worked on the areas that needed to be improved or guaranteed and following a bit of luck, we are now starting to see a squad assembled worthy of the name.
Better squad, better matchday experience, better facilities, better communication and NM very much still in our sights.
As vastman points out frequently, the people of Wakefield will still find reasons not to come, and he's right, but the club are doing everything they can to address their side of it, so for once in 40 odd years we are getting it right, now it's down to the people to come down to BV and back what's being done.
There are a lot of reasons to come and support now, but only with that support from RL fans in the city will we move up to the top table of RL.

We've tried to sign on a couple of Hull FC players using the same tactic but they don't seem impressed!
