Jeez - I'm so tired of this!
1 Not Sausage / not a SH - OK?!!!
2 We are finding life tough - what's new?
What is the point in me even trying - no-one wants to listen!
We have a problem with the gates and the sponsorship - so we've brought Jim Elston back to do something about it.
We have a problem with lack of players / quality of players - so the club is looking for opportunities where it can.
We will not get a SL licence without a stadium - so we are doing EVERYTHING WE CAN to do something about it.
We had a massive IR bill to cover as well as fund the running of the club - so we've done everything we can to cover it.
If anyone has a couple of million spare, or a geni in a lamp - get in touch with Ted now. Otherwise, on your behalf, and whilst most seem to want to do nothing more than BURN someone, the club will get on with dealing with the real world.
In the meantime, just remember John Harbins comments the next time you feel crap after a game - 'at least the dog will still love you' (or words to that effect) - i.e. (in case of any doubt), get some perspective - no-one's died; the club is still there and I will still be here - bugging the lot of you!

| Quote ="TRB"I regret to inform you that there may be some good news coming around the corner - as soon as this week!
There is a horrible chance that a new player may be on his way to join in the 'Wake' at Belle Vue, with his only motivation being to come and prove himself and help the club move forward.
And if that wasn't enough, lo and behold, the club have still had the temerity to continue down the cul-de-sac that is the 'white elephant' of Newmarket. They are hoping to make a significant announcement this week towards the facilities being provided and continue in the vain assumption that a new stadium may actually help us retain a place in Super League!!!!
I know none of this will be popular, it's all too little too late by our [uappauling management.[/u We are Wakefield, we should be number 1 at everything with all that money the club have robbed from us and everything that's been done for the past 15 years has been a total catastrophe! We should have built a stadium 10 years ago; we should have made Gareth Ellis play out the last year of his contract; we should have made Mr Sulky (both of 'em) stay and play - regardless of how badly - until the end of this year and if that meant us going bust - so what!
Clearly the club have no direction, have chosen to lead us into the current position and have had the finances available for a long time to ensure that we are at least every bit as good as Saints / Leeds etc, I mean, Huddersfield have done it and it's only cost Ken Davy a bob or two!
So, having read the views on this board right now, I say we have no choice but to BURN the management and form a new BoD from the posters on here, and to hell with any excuses of 'good news' that may be coming - [uWe want it all, and we want it [/unow!
'"
I for one have never said this and i don't think its the case, but the fact is reading this board that loyal respected fans are asking questions and have serious doubts regarding player loss and the lack of replacements. No doubt the club are finding it tough at the moment, loss of support and sponsorship are difficult to deal with.
These fans don't "We want it all, and we want it now" expect miracles but they do expect value for money and a bit of honesty now and again, neither of those have happened, can you honestly say that some of the fans who have questioned the club on here are wrong to do so.
How can you expect fans who have little idea whats going on to understand the loss of three key players on decent wages to have not been replaced, most of these people don't even blame the club for the circumstances of these players leaving but they would like to know "why" it seems we can't/won't replace them.
I would have thought that its logical to ask these questions and get some sort of answer, that way fans don't feel used. Silly old me

Has Charlie Leano got his visa then ?
Pity its not a scrum half as we would look a lot better with a scrum half taking the lead with BJ at stand off playing a supporting role and Cooke at LF - but thats just my opinion.
And Phil, please chill a bit, the frustration comes from all of us wanting the same thing. I for one do not want to BURN the Board and run the club. I want to see us play well and I can take a defeat if we play well and are beaten by the better side. It hurts like hell when I see us beaten by teams like Crusaders and a depleated Hull side because rightly or wrongly I think we are better than that.

agree with all of that, and not having a go at you trb in any way.
its just some of what is happening does not stack up, and as ive said before its not the usual suspects, i feel i have defended the club through thick and thin over the last 25 years against a whole variety of people slagging us off, just at present we are actually looking a bit daft.
In short, if its the tax bill, lack of revenue from sponsorships, which would/should have been known pre season, why did we sign high earners such as newton, tronc and morrison in the first place and why didnt we cash in brough in the close season when there could well have been a bidding war for him?
Sorry TRB but the real word on the terraces is the tax bill thing suggests someone stuffed up, and in the meantime we kept spending cash bringing names in.

Not silly at all - but there is plenty of silliness going on around here, which some can and some can't be answered right now.
People can make their own judgements and will, but what irritates is the flat refusal of some to accept some things which don't suit their agenda's.
The club are aware of the problems on the pitch, and they put their faith in the coaching staff to deal with it. The same coaching staff that wanted to bring in Paul Cooke - being the best available half-back at the time. It isn't working yet, but that doesn't mean it won't, even if we all think that's the case.
Value for money - well that's a tough one right now. If we're paying for the equivalent of teeth extracting, then yes - but it's a loss of form, not the end of the world.
Honesty - well I doubt you get any more from any club in the competition, without going into the detailed accounts for each 'movement'. The deals the club have done have been widely reported - with reasons for them, and it would be nice to see some 'honesty' from people about what they would do in the same situation - again that is NOT a personal comment, more a broad generalisation.

We all get frustrated - just look at the other threads on here at the moment. TRB sees things in a different light. I support the stance the club has taken too. People may disagree, but that's where I stand.
That said, I think Al makes a very good point too. Some kind of statement from the club outlining the plans for the rest of the season and beyond would be a welcome thing. It would go some way to appeasing the frustration that people rightly feel at the moment.
The bottom line is this, though (and PB has said as much on other threads) - withdraw your support now, and you'll never see what you dream of seeing. Clubs need support most when times are tough. Players need support most when times are tough. It's back to the people - are you "Wakefield till you die", or "Wakefield till next week"?

50 odd years tells it's own story, and as I've said before , don't really know why I feel like I do after what we've gone through in the past.
All I ever want from my club is the team to give it's all each game win or lose, something I have not seem in recent weeks, and after the progress made in the Kear era, to take such a big(it seems) step backwards does not make sense, hence my support on AL'S post.
By the way what is the clubs stance, which is all Al was asking.

Absolutely spot on (if I'm allowed to say that).
We have moved generally forward for years, yet when the club faces some harder times, with some difficult decisions and a few 'cracks' showing, many on here turn on them, or John, or the players (some can't make their mind up and choose all 3).
However, I can assure everyone that Ted is going nowhere quick and is determined not only to see this short term situation through, but also to see this club begin a new and vibrant future in a first class facility of which we can all be proud of - then the players will be ringing us up wanting to come here!

I meant the action the club took with regard to Tronc and Brough. In my opinion, the club acted correctly. I can't comment on the rumour that the club failed to fulfill it's obligations to Tronc, because I have no idea what those obligations may have been, or how they may not have been honoured. All I know is what Tronc himself stated publicly, in the press, that he was happy and settled (but hated the weather). Then the chance to play for Brisbane arises, and suddenly everything is crap, his form slumps, his missus is unhappy, etc. etc. I can't see the point in hanging on to someone who doesn't want to play for you and won't put in the performances he's capable of. I'd rather spend the money on the Gledhills of this world, even if he isn't a Shane Tronc yet.
Likewise Brough. People can believe that Broughy would have given his all for the club and played out the remainder of his contract, if they want to. I think that's a complete crock of crap. We got the best deal we could under the circumstances. It may not look a good deal, but it was the best one available to us.

| In terms of player movements, we have had:
Tronc for new player
Brough for Cooke
Newton for Kirmond
Plus, new boy Gledhill and a deal for Korki which will assist with next years squad.
That's it. Cooke was the player we agreed as the replacement for Brough - it's only the timing which meant that Cooke was here before Brough left, but Brough was going no-where until we signed Cooke. Now JK needs to get Cooke to work for us within the team dynamic - and who knows how long that might take, but it will.
Brough's new deal was for 2011 onwards and could be budgeted accordingly.
There is a small balance between the in's and the out's, but no-where near what some seem to think I'm afraid!

I think we acted properly and made all the right moves considering the circumstances. Cooke was the mistake, if we had have signed any other SL pivot or even a decent championship one like Ben Black things would not have looked too bad. Hull Kr lost a lot of money on the guy and got shut for a reason
I was willing to give him a chance but that pathetic attempt at a tackle on Whiting confirmed what I have thought after his first few games.

| I don't think criticising [iall[/i fans is fair, and in many ways it's just as detrimental to the club than having a dig at club staff, but I suppose we all have very high standards now Kear has shown us what he [ican[/i do with several squads of differing skill levels and we are BLOODY FRUSTRATED!!! I think it feels different this time around (as a few older fans have stated) because we are starting to have the belief we are a good team, a top 6 team.
I've only ever lost faith in Kear once and that was briefly at half time against Leeds at home a few years ago, we trailed about 0-40 but the lads came up with a solid 2nd 40 minutes and we've coped ok until now and I for one am sure JK will have us all worshipping him again once a few more bodies are available. At the moment there isn't much competition for places and I think a few key players are having confidence issues so it's not through lack of effort or skill as to why we are having a lull in form, which is a good thing in a way.

| Quote ="WF4"I don't think criticising [iall[/i fans is fair, and in many ways it's just as detrimental to the club than having a dig at club staff, but I suppose we all have very high standards now Kear has shown us what he [ican[/i do with several squads of differing skill levels and we are BLOODY FRUSTRATED!!!
:/'"
actually 0-48, remember it well because it was my son's first game ! after i asked him if he wanted to watch leeds and his reply was "wakefield till i die" just like my dad...poor deluded child !
ps..we NEED a scrum half!
