Snitch especially this year he has shown he can offload, run hard, pass, tackle, play hard for 80mins. Ferres had probably 3 of those things at the most thats why he wasn't a loss. Snitch has impressed me this year. I bet cas offered 20 thousand more than us thats why we have probably lost him. Wilkes at 29 is a loss but replacable but he has showed some amazing effort for us and I will miss Olay's 5 star effort. Question is can we replace there work rate and arguably the engine room of the team. Shame to see the back of them.'"
The pack...
Wilkes, Snitch, Bibey and Drew out...
Morrison, Tronc, Newton in...
Korkidas, Possibly/Hopefully in...
added to... Moore, Stosic, Fergi, Bibb, JD, Latu, hendo
rumoured ins...Paul johnson, can play at 2,3,4,5,11 & 12
Possible starting pack...
Korki Newton Tronc
Fergi JD
Morrison
Replacements
Moore, Stosic, Latu
and when injuries set in, Bibb, Hendo, Johnson and if it gets down to it, millard can turn out at 11, 12 or 13, but i imagin he will be atkins replacement.
Also, i think some of the young lads weve signed up full time are packmen.
so, the answer youre looking for is yes...plenty in the pack for me at this time.
If we dont sign korki from shudds, id like to see us bring in a strike prop

Any reasoning behind that, because trust me cas arent a rich club 9in fact i was rather suprised we had a higher bis than you after, losing out on petersen and stosic).

For once I'd half agree with you over Snitch, if that was proven the case. However, that is a big if. Who's to say he had any intention of staying here? He's previous leaving hardly suggested he was a club stalwart. As a player, yes he offers far more than replacing Dunc, etc, but you can only keep a player if they want to stay.
As far as Wilkes is concerned, he's replacable. If his price has risen so that he is no longer value for money, let him go.

You really need to chill out fella, yes Snitch & Wilkes have both had good seasons but we’re not parley to contract negotiations. A three year contract can put a player in the comfort zone, which we can ill afford, and lets be fair, neither of them are a Gaz Ellis or a Solo, but we’ve still progressed.
Quote ="newgroundb4cas"Only bad business deal john has done was losing Fox so i do trust JK he is a awesome coach. Magilvary we would allways cope he was just a great tackler. Snitch has plenty of attributes. I just think Snitch in the 2nd row on his £ who is going to be better?'"
If we had a poll on JK’s bad business deals, I’d go for Reilly.

ive heard they're happy to release him. However, if they allow him to come to us on loan for another season that'd suit both camps. Only thing that would bother me is them recalling him if he was playing out of his skin or they were struggling for numbers. that could leave us in a bit of a mess

| Losing Wilkes & Snitch after the way they have played this year is a loss and does seem like bad news, but if you are honest and look at your first choice pack would they both have been in it - assuming everyone is fit,
mine would be Tronc - Newton - Stosic
Morrison - Ferguson
JD.
Bench - Moore (Korki if retained) Leo-Latu.
so in my mind neither would be first choice,
if we had tried to keep one it would have been snitch and its disappointing that hes left again, but i unlike others dont know all the inns and outs of his contract.

you're a forward light on that bench and snitch would have been on it for me.
that said hudds shipped him out presumably because he wasn't performing to the required level so who's to say he would be as good next year?

| The other factors to consider are injuries, suspensions, lack of form etc. I bet your 6 plus 4 don't play together as stated in more than 10 matches and there lies the risk of relying too much on quality over quantity - we will still need good quality 'back up' which Snitch, Wilkes etc would have provided. We need to bring in squad players who will be able to do the job in the first team and not be too reliant upon the youngsters.

I think wether you start or come on from the bench that has no relevence to your value to the team, its not as if we are playing in the park and the subs are lads we have dragged out of the tap hole, chippy or bookies. I know its a cliche but it really is a 17 man game these days and the bench can really change a game with its impact.
That said though, I take your point about Snitch coming off the bench - he doesnt have the impact desired he is more of a grafter as you say so him starting would have been my ideal line up. For what its worth, here it is:
8 Tronc
9 Newton
10 Stosic
11 Morrison
12 Moore
13 Ferguson
S Korkidas
S Obst
S Demetriou
S New Prop to replace Wilkes

From My Early Years & Poss future
1979 2009/10
John Burke ------ Shane Tronc
Alan Mcurrie ------- Terry Newton
Trevor Skerrett ----- James Stosic
Graham Idle ------ Glenn Morrison
Twinny (either) ------ Dale Ferguson
Bill Ashurst ------ Jason Demetriou
and for gods sake before anyone comments this is not a comparison.
because i would have had Mike Lapmkowski at loose or Paul Mcdermott
and Bill Ashurst as the ball handling 2nd row.

| It seems to me that Kear is accumulating Salary Cap by getting rid of expensive players like Atkins, to enable him to keep his key man, Danny Brough. It is rumoured that they are in talks with Danny regarding an extention to his contract which teminates next year. Whilst I appreciate the undoubted talent of DB he will be demanding a very high salary. It looks as though JK is counting on the talent of the youngsters coming through and he is a good coach so he will have spotted the talent there, and they do not count under the salary cap, but the good fotune of the Wildcats this year has been the options they have had at half back. Now that Drew has gone and Grix, they will not have the strength in depth that they have been used to. Drew and Brough in the same team gives a coach so many options, then there is Obst and Latu. No doubt JK has a plan, but will hanging onto DB at any cost be a good plan.

Yes, centres/back-rowers/props/utility men are all fairly easily replaced - a top class scrum-half, less so.

A top class scrum-half benefits greatly by having a top class stand-off to work with - this is an area we need to address urgently if we are to continue our wonderful progress into the elite SL teams.
