Because of the way the score is worked out, we would have to finish lower than 4th to impact the points in the grading for performance as its done over a 3 year average.
The stadium would impact immediately and the floodlights and screen alone would be equivalent to us finishing 3 places higher ( consistently over 3 years)
The new stand adds to the score for stadium 3, finances for income outside funding and balance sheet which would be 3 of the 5 finance points and I guess attendance as we were having to reduce attendance but playing in Championship will reduce that again....however, if we stay above average 3k crowd we don't lose points compared to what we had in SL because of the grouping.

So like it or not, that stand and stadium redevelopment is more valuable than staying in Super League this year.

By the statement ( up the backside ) do you means fans who turn out every week home and away or those keyboard warriors that sit at home and spew vile nonsense on a regular basis but don’t go to games . I’ll hold my hand up I’m in the former camp , I backed my club , not happy with lots of things but what choice did we have , don’t go and let the club fold . Yes, investment in fans. Building the fanbase is the first criteria under IMG but the club are going backwards in this area with less and less fans turning up to the games or engaging with them on social media. It takes investment from the club to build this up both in terms of better marketing, better social media management, to providing a better fan environment at the games. Some of that is done by investing in the team so that people will enjoy their visit, and some of it is building on the wider match day experience. Just selling beer and bovril from a shed like in the 1970's doesn't cut it any more.

That's the whole point mopsey , the present regime have actually had the guts to do something whatever they have done right or wrong. It's people who hide behind word's not actions. I don’t like to question the wisdom of our Chairman but this is not a good year to be relegated. His ambition that we could reach an A grade is similarly questionable. We will at best be a B along with many others. He doesn’t appear to think that we need to finish top, he wants to pin a lot on the ground but until the West Stand is redeveloped ours is no better than many in the Championship.

It isn't how it looks, it what it does.
Minards even suggested if we get lower crowds it will be better for us to close the west stand and charge away supporters for a seat in the new stand.
It gets us more income and gets us points in static for % of stadium filled.

It's out of their hands anyway, the capacity is determined by the safety advisory group and has to be a minimum of 5000 to score any IMG points. The only way the SAG will reduce capacity is if there is an agreed plan for improvement for that area which would mean it needs to be closed for safety reasons, and would likely need agreed planning approval and a schedule of works. This is to stop every club from just changing their capacity on a regular basis so that they can game the criteria to pretend they're close to capacity at every game.

1) for IMG we need to stay above 3000 to keep the score we have now. So actually it's better to decrease capacity and get a better percentage and higher utilisation of the East Stand in the short term.
2) it would take so much money to do the West enough to attract crowds, you may as well just buy a load of season tickets yourself and count them on your attendance
3) if you were going to invest in fans you'd do the back off the North Stand first in my opinion.

It's all about IMG points and if changing the West terrace doesn't get points then we shouldn't do it in the short term.

It’s all about points and our submission is just one of many. We first have to now score higher than the 12 SL clubs and then hope that we are the best in the Championship if one of these fails.
In his interview he hopes which appears to be all we have is hope and belief that the supporters will keep turning up if they build it.
