I'd have been happier if it had been a 'one-off' commemorative shirt with separate/traditional home & away shirts, which would also maximise merchandise potential
Instead, I'll get a polo shirt or two by way of supporting the club

The point of a new shirt, especially in our 150th year, is for people to buy it.

The idea of using the historic shirt design was really good. No one would have complained.
But adding the gold where they have makes it look like a very well known Leeds shirt. There are no two ways about it. It does. I don't mind us playing in it. But if they want to sell them they are not going to do so.

Whoever signed off the gold bit did not do their homework.

Our shirt doesn't actually look like any of their previous shirts, but the gold draws you to that link.
If the ASUS was white or we only gad gold on sleeve and not collar I don't think anyone would have connected so much.

That's pretty much where I am. And it doesn't match the historic shirt they're trying to emulate, where there is a real contrast between the hoop colours. Marketing is about branding. This isn't the Trinity brand.

But we've had worse. At least one club has a comedy shirt. And I won't mind when I see Murphy scoring a winning try in it.

Leeds shirt has yellow/amber trim. It’s different to the gold. I looked at both this morning. They’re two different colours.

If we had gone the same colour as Leeds I’d agree but it’s gold and you can clearly see that so I just don’t see an issue.

Leeds have white trim on their shirt. That’s a trinity colour isn’t it?

Imagine you hadn't watched League for ten years but saw a super league trailer for next year with all the captains lined up. You'd be able to identify the clubs involved except us (and Leigh, but that's a whole other story). I think that's the general point.

As a commemorative shirt though, I like the idea. I just can't help thinking that if they are going to do that, it should be the same colours as the original shirt, light blue and black, then at least there is a point to it. This is just a generic blue shirt with gold trim.

Having not understood originally, I get why the colours have been chosen, but fundamentally light blue, dark blue and gold is not a colour scheme anyone would associate with the Wakefield Trinity of today. As a sport we are quite poor at building a brand identity and going wholesale to change to something we wore back in 1873 when we didnt even play the same sport goes against that. As an away shirt it would be great, as a home one whilst decent it just looks odd. Still makes no difference to me as I never buy the replica's due to them being made out of plastic bags, but I'll have a look at the other items to see if there is anything decent in the range. Hopefully the club will look at bringing out a cotton heritage/commemorative red, white and blue jersey as I would be purchasing that, and it might cover people not buying the shirt because of the colour scheme.

After a few hours I’m warming to it… (just wish the trim had been red and the shorts white) …

What's done is done I still support the team and I must say the other merchandise does look very good so I may purchase something yet instead of the home shirt!

The large size had sold out. Great sales of other sizes too.

Not surprised. I wasn’t expecting much and was prepared for another standard kit but I’m really impressed.

Merchandise is mostly great the blue and gold is abit meh but the hoodies and polos are good quality good variation so event complaining about the shirt no excuse not to spend it on other merchandise instead I could have spent a fortune but holding back for more of the outerwear expected next week

Shirts were flying out not many complaining aside the persistent whingers on the the other social media platform

A few of my family will be getting Christmas presents from the shop. I really like the Merch.

What is the sizing like on the new shirts? Not been able to get to the shop yet.......Hummel was definitely more fitted than ISC!
