The latest plans for the hospitality area shows a fairly large kitchen of 95 square meters, I’m sure everything will be prepared in house.

I had to read that twice. I read it as meters square that would be a big kitchen

| Not sure about the size of the kitchen but many sports venues outsource the catering side. I'm sure the club will make the right decision on whether to outsource or keep it in house either way it will be a good income stream for the club

| My guess would be that the corporate meals will be in house.
I suspect the two concourse outlets on the lower concourse may be franchised out. I suspect there are a lot of companies that service these kinds of outlets as they are effectively only open matchday for a few hours.
The kitchens will hopefully be an all year round operation.

| I am sure the Club will review everything, as the leap from where Hospitality is now and where it will be when the East Stand is open for business (as Vastman says to a year round operation) is pretty huge leap

Yep, It all boils down to what they were built for.
The south ends hospitality block is ideal for what it was built to be, a matchday venue. Once inside the facilities are more than adequate for most events, I'd go as far as to say it's quite luxurious. The problem is that it has none of the additions that would make it a fully useable year-round venue. It's tucked around the side of the ground with poor access and has no sort of entrance/reception. It's very industrial until you actually get in it. That's fine on match days and for a limited number of events but that's all.
Compare the to the new East stand with its direct road access into a large well lit and landscaped car park. Then enter it via the plush locking reception, Then make your way upstairs to the function area via a double staircase or what appear to be two lifts?? Enter a large well lit room with double aspect windows and a large capacity and excellent toilet facilities and a large kitchen.
The East stand is an easy sell for almost every type of function you can think of in a way the boxes aren't, other than on matchday.
I'd have never suggested the ground level hospitality suite of the flats to anyone for almost anything if I'm honest. But if the East stand matches the plans then I most certainly would. Parties, anniversaries, reunions, corporate events of all types you name it, you'd have to be an absolute snob not to consider it a very acceptable venue.
Not everyone wants or can afford a country house wedding either, there is a market for more affordable and functional wedding venues so long as the venue is smart and reasonably attractive, I believe the East stand will be fine for many. It's a very lucrative market.
In a nutshell, the East stand should be a salespersons dream.

If I remember correctly the monies from matchday catering were surrendered to some guy whose name escapes me in return for the prefab 'shop' in the car park. Turned out the guy was raking money out of us whilst the second's hand and portable building that he owned cost nothing like that much. He basically lent us something he owned and we handed over a top revenue source.
Probably more to it than that but that was roughly it, I think.
I've said it before Ted was not as bad as some make out, in fact, he saved the club when nobody else was interested, Please don't pretend they were because they weren't, it was all emotion and hot air.
However, Ted was in all respects a well to do market trader and his inabilities to run a more corporate club became exposed as the game moved on. He and his family simply didn't have the expertise to run the club in a modern way and this is a perfect example. Potential revenue streams became lost or grossly undervalued and in the end, we simply couldn't fund ourselves,
I really have a soft spot for Ted as people know, he wasn't a bad lad in his way. However, under the new regimes, you can clearly see where it was going wrong. There is nothing overly special about MC and the rest other than their apparent honesty and professionalism. He's just a proper and decent CEO used to running larger type businesses who just employs modern methods. Food/hospitality will have been one of the first things he would have looked at, I'd have liked to have seen his face.
PS: The best example is the Stadium. Under Ted and Sir Toad it would all have been done on drink-fuelled matey meetings with lots of funny handshakes and then right at the very end somebody would have realised that nothing was signed and nobody was accountable and well you know the rest. I may be being a bit unfair but you get the idea.

Honestly, I and most others have no idea. I'm yet to see what he's gained or to put it another way I'd be breaking the law to speculate.
It was, without doubt, the turning point where NM was concerned, from that point there was no way back.
I'll guarantee you one thing when the new stand is built RW will undoubtedly find a way to claim the credit, watch this space.

Interesting that it takes our capacity up to 8866,
One it shows how capacious the North stand is and why it got the upgrade.
Two, for us to get an ideal capacity of around 11 -12 thousand we don't need to do a great deal.
I know for a fact that the re-building of the West terrace would add about 1200. Meaning that a relatively modest re-development of the South end of the ground, say 1000 seats.
This would give us an approx capacity of 11,066.
That would put BV into a different league, allowing it to host smaller Internationals, lower league finals, CCup semi-finals, other games in other sports (RU, Women's Football, Hockey etc).
Really exciting times if all goes to plan on the redevelopment. It opens up so many possibilities that simply aren't there at the moment. Let's hope we then build on this legacy.

I don’t like the honours system as it is and Walker is a perfect example as to why.
You won’t be surprised that I’m not against it all together. but I’d be much happier if it was just enough handed out for a balanced House of Lords, I mean it’s not like they do anything much. Also a handful of honorables actually picked by the Queen and close advisors for knighthoods and other gongs and not by politicians and civil servants. I’m pretty sure Liz would get most of them right and I doubt that would include Rodders.
I support a limited version of it because I think it makes us stand out a bit from the rest of the rather bland Eurozone. A bit of good old fashioned pomp. Shows we were able to keep our traditions because we didn’t keep losing wars (Germany) or surrendering (France) or just being plain load and vulgar (USA). I don’t really care so long as it keeps the rest of the world interested. Being noticed even for daft things is better than not being noticed at all (Australia or Canada).
It could be quite a nice institution if it wasn’t so clearly bent

| My bro came up with a good suggestion this morning regarding the forthcoming building works - instead of us die-hards asking for regular progress updates, how's about the club/builders put one of those time-lapse cameras on the roof of either the North or South stands pointing at the East stand so we can permanently view the on-going transformation ???

Excellent idea, filming throughout the entire demolition and rebuild, it would also capture anything naughty such as on-site theft or vandalism, this is not aimed at those campers on Heath common .
