Looks a strong team that and gives us a chance to look at Windrow, Shaw and Bowes.
Personally Croft has improved since his first game back in trinity. He has sorted his defensive weaknesses out and has been very good last few games. For me I’d be happy to sign him to rotate in at centre and push for a place. I’d be happy with Hall, Lyne, Gaskell and Croft as next years centres with maybe promoting a promising young centre to a full time contract (don’t we have a good once coming through or two?).

Why no Liam Kaye, he only did 20 mins on Thursday, yet immediately made an impact. He will be fit a fresh, best hooker at club , plus great utility value

| If we loose it will be due to complacency. I think WP needs to convince the squad we are playing a full strength Saints team then we should win

| Whilst a win would be “nice” it is not vital and so WP might want to look at who will be here next year.
Then those areas can be addressed over the close season.
Mr Woolf will be doing the same.

| It would be nice to show off the Academy by naming the following team
With Kershaw rested
Batchelor injured
Tom Johnstone injured
It would be some statement to be able to field that team
Jowitt (Academy Product)
Murphy (Academy Product)
Croft (Academy Product)
Hall (Academy Product)
Evans (Johnstone)
Lino
Gaskill
Aydin (Academy Product)
Bowes (Academy Product)
Shaw (Academy Product)
Ashurst (Batchelor)
Windrow (Academy Product)
Crowther (Academy Product)
Kay (Academy Product)
Walker
Battye
Butler

Yes same here. Lets not forget dugout gate. They will have the league leaders hub cap ready for the presentation if they win. Lets beat them and then give them a dug out chair as a momento

| I hope Croft gets another game as I think he's steadily improved with each appearance this year after his long layoff. He's built up a hell of a physique and is way ahead of the young lad he was when he went out on loans.

The reason I left him out is he’s just returned from injury and there’s no need to risk him on a short turnaround when he may be a bit sore etc. Plus it’s an idea opportunity to see Bowes get a extended run.
Kay would be straight in vs Hudds.

That’s not true, why not read the original thread. Plenty doubting after the Toulouse debacle. Opinions are one thing PT but re-writing history is not on. I fully accept what I wrote and stand by it but so did others. Suggest you show fairness to all shades of opinion.
Personally hope your belief in the bloke pays off, I’m not into cutting my nose off to spite my face. Right or wrong what I said at the time was valid and you know it.

Vastly improved player, I’d chose him above Gaskell and Lyne on current form.

I’d love to know the five players currently in front of him, Deary me. He’s better than Gaskell and playing better than Lyne was before injury and Taufu is a winger mainly. On form he’s number 2 to a fair mind.

I would point out that it is difficult to ascertain Croft’s full ability because the recent games have been up against weakened teams which to be fair is the only reason he got into the squad for us. This could also be the argument for the impact Gaskell has seen at centre.

I would point out that our right edge has suffered in many games this season but after a run of games now Croft is beginning to find a bit of form.
Hull KR threw a lot at us the other night, especially first half and although they had plenty of injuries they still had a dangerous enough looking left edge containing Linnet and Hall…two physically strong players in attack and Croft played a massive part defensively in snuffing them out time after time. He also carried the ball real strong and was only behind the exceptional effort of Lee Kershaw in metres made….the work those two did first half clearing our lines when we were losing the territorial battle were huge.
It was his best game yet for me…

| You just know tomorrow will be all about Saints team being weakened…like Wilkin kept going on about the other night but it’s worth pointing out the quality we’ll be without…
1 - Shaul
2 - Johnstone
3 - Tupou
4 - Lyne
5 - Kershaw
6 -
7 -
8 - Fifita
9 - Hood
10 - Whitbread
11 - Tanginoa
12 - Batchelor
13 - Pitts
Halfbacks apart that’s pretty much a 1st choice three quarter line and strongest pack…as I said will all be about how weakened Saints are though!

Yes no doubt but we should be using that to go to their gaff and spoil their party in a grand way.
As for Croft. I was critical when he first came back into the team. His last 3/4 performances have shown me enough that he most certainly can be a capable SL centre. I have noticed that physically he looks to have got himself in excellent shape. I would be happy for us to sign him and believe he would add good squad depth and rotation options. He’s one for the future and he’s only still young. Perhaps Lyne’s replacement in coming years.
