What like all the junior tickets given out when we played Toulouse

Perhaps you have your own ideas on what it needs to bring out these closet fans should make interesting reading, to be fair to Cas fans they always turn out in decent numbers at BV, don't really see your point regarding targeting the shudds and Salford home games when they can't even be bothered to get off they're backsides to watch their own home games never mind the away ones so good luck with that one.

| Yeah, reckon there was only around 300 Salford fans there today but reckon Wigan will bring a couple of thousand and then Cas maybe 3-4000 ??

This is the same poster who three days ago stated he thought Lino was going to Wigan. He doesn’t see the contradiction between spreading BS nonsense like that and then claiming the ‘owners’ don’t do enough.
The hypocrisy of some supporters baffles me. Trinity fans need to realise that many of them are the clubs worst enemy when it comes to promoting the club. There negativity undermines everything others work so hard to achieve.
Annoys the hell out of me.

But that stuff never works and never has.
There are only two ways to increase the fan base. Better results and better facilities. The rest is Glover style window dressing that bankrupts clubs.
It’s very simple, if people won’t pay the going rate they are not worth the efforts for the simple reason that they end up costing us money. You can’t buy support, ask Ken Davey.
The only exception is kids and the club do that.

Course it was under the present circumstances, the clubs making progress on and off the field despite all this financial uncertainty in the country, a lot of people will have far more important things to spend their hard earned on if there lucky, Salford aren't exactly a top drawer either, success will have to be earned and patience will be needed and hopefully rewarded, after what we've been through this last couple of seasons we should be grateful we are still here.

| I'm sure there are people in Wakefield who want to watch Trinity (remember the crowds some years ago when probably thousands were getting in for nothing or very little) but they are the ones who will only come back and pay full price to watch a successful Trinity.
I thought the crowd yesterday was what I expected it to be.
I expect a couple of thousand more against the likes of Wigan and Cas.

In terms of attendances, some clubs are bucking the trend but, many seem to be struggling badly, especially Leeds, Wire and even Wigan.
4300 v Salford is about right.
Wigan next week should be a decent crowd and IF we get past that one, there will be a boost in numbers.
All those stay away fans pretending that they never miss a game

| Wakefield have had more rubbish seasons then good unfortunately during my time of watching so a lot of lads I went to school with supported the Rhinos. Thats the past and there’s nothing much that can be done about that. The investment into the community clubs and wanting the kids to not only come watch Wakefield but actually dream to play for them is the future.

Things are pretty good for Trinity right now, in fact, probably the best they have been since I started watching seriously in the late 80's.
Stadium development firmly (and finally) on its way.
Superb community links
An excellent nucleus of home grown players in the first 17
Top 6 league position
And one of, if not the most exciting player in SL
There is absolutely no doubt that the club is moving forward on all fronts and although it's been said so many times over the years, now is the time for the Wakefield public to come down and see what they are missing.
With Leeds imploding, maybe, just maybe, some of their Wakefield based fans could follow their home town club too.
Forgot to mention that Trinity are about to celebrate the 150th birthday - next season if my maths is correct !

Agree with all that, this is definitely the most stable time on all fronts it’s been being a Wakey fan ie off field and on during my time of watching them (late 90’s). It always makes me laugh the amount of cars On the m1 with people wearing Rhinos tops on you see coming from Wakefield when we play them.

| I think we have to accept that watching any sport falls under the luxury category for many people. With the cost of living crisis now hitting everyone, watching Wakefield will be low on many people’s priorities. It will be the same for all clubs and will be reflected in the attendances.

It's true that, when cash gets tight, people will pick and choose how to spend their cash.
However, for me, watching Trinity has and always will be a chance to forget the daily "grind" and "escape" for a few hours.
Equally, IF we can have some success and especially when there are some better facilities, people will be drawn to Belle Vue.
This is why the game this coming weekend is so important.
Some hope in the gloom

| A lot of people wouldn’t think twice of spending £60/80 a week on fags or £60/80 on a Friday night having a drink. Each to their own, everyone has a method of chilling out or doing something in which they enjoy. For me that’s watching Wakefield.

That's fine and completely agree, but not everybody has got that sort of money to throw around, those that can and do are either fortunate or maybe selfish with their families missing out on some necessities, the more sensible people will get they're priorities in order, unfortunately not everyone has a choice of chilling out.

| No disrespect to anyone who lives in Castleford but they seem to be able to get big numbers to watch their team ,and arguably nowhere in the wakefield district has there been more hardship with factories and the mines closing ,and I take my hat off to them ,despite this they pack their club out on a match day .I’d say Wakefield’s problem isn’t lack of money in the general public it’s apathy. Lost count of the people I bump into who used to go and it’s never the money that’s stopped them coming it’s the performances that they got fed up with, and I think it will take a fair few more decent performances to start this steady trickle into a stream ,but hopefully keep winning and the revamp and hopefully match day entertainment and things will turn round , starting with giving Wigan a thumping and a date at Elland Road

I understand that the cost of living and inflation at the moment is crippling a lot of people, and people have other priorities, it’s understandable. I’m only talking from personal experience, and that’s a working class one. I personally choose to spend £25 on a ticket then go out for beers or what other people do in their own time, fortunately that’s in my budget (again not a big one btw).

| I visited Cas Market last week and was surprised how many stall holders promote the Tigers.
Unless the council can improve the Wakefield centre it will always fall short of what's going on in and around Cas.
I must have seen at least 20 people in Cas shirts and loads of cars parked up with stickers in them.
The club need to find a way of generating that level of interest and improving on it year after year.
Feeling part of the club goes a long way to achieving good community relations.
