On the face of it, it would seem better to meet the so called top teams early on before they get into their stride and it does give us an easier run in.

I see us being 1 from 7 anone else ????? its a worrying draw for us especially if we get any injuries we are going to be towards the bottom of the ladder in first 2 months - if we have injuries will we get out of it ?

It's all about scraping a couple of "W's" in those early games, before everyone is fully into their stride.
Leigh, with their "golden ticket", have to be favourites for the wooden spoon but, they go into the season with no pressure on them whatsoever.
With our squad as it is, we need some luck with injuries, especially in the forwards, we seem one and possibly 2 props light.

A good finish would be 8th and anything better would be excellent and then hopefully build from there.

Every club gets injuries and Trinity are definitely due a change of luck after the past couple of seasons and the bigger clubs, with larger squads (like Leeds) should cope better than most. It comes down to who, how many and how long for. I think that we have decent cover and some good options in our spine and if some of our young lads continue to develop, things could look pretty good for us.

It was originally said Gale would be touch and go for the start of the season but then the season was put back 2 weeks so he may be ok.
Still looks like you have one of the toughest starts though.

I know it's a few years ago but, he was quality when he went to Union.
Let's just hope it takes him a few games to pick the game back up again

Quality HB's are a very scarce commodity in League and he could be a very good signing for them.
Lui,, who he is "covering" for, isn't exactly quick.

Actually, when he chose to go to union, apart from the money off the field, on the field he had become a "spot", whereby every team playing Saints knew exactly how to exploit him in defence.

Saints couldn't hide him anymore and good teams had easy pickings against him in attack.

It's not an area of his game he will have improved upon in union.

Based on the opposition he would of come up against in the centres in Union if it is the case he hasn`t improved I`m not sure how he has lasted 10 years at that level!

I feel you are suggesting he has not only survived, but thrived for 10 years in union.

He has played something like 10 games per season and scored around 3 tries per season. Hardly great.

In League his threat was attack. That's gone. He'll sparkle on occasion (probably against us lol), but he's 31 now.

He wasn't cheese the first time round and he won't be cheese the second time time round.

1. He won't be ready to play v Wfd.
2. He will be injured in the game and need to be subbed.
3. If he plays and doesn't leave through injury, he will be tactically subbed (or Leeds will lose the game (and he'll be the scapegoat).


4. Little will rip us to shreds (we are Wakefield, after all).

So your telling me, he has played 10 years in Union at the very highest level in a very difficult position to defend, without been able to defend? He may have had some injury issues but the majority time his was fit, he was picked, now I am sat here wondering why he got capped 6 times for England if he couldn't defend.

If you cant defend in either code in any position, you will get found out very quickly, especially at elite level.

He's done nothing.

He was targeted in League before he went.

He hasn't improved.

Not wanted in union.

He is not the Messiah.
