I agree, I think defensively Wakefield are better than Salford, but at the moment the attack is lacking a little bit which could be where the game swings. There's the potential to score loads in the squad so it's just a case of letting them find the balance. Players were running in hat tricks in preseason so they know they can do it, they just need the confidence to try it when points are on the line

Last seasons game at Belle Vue against Salford was a hard fought & tough game & I'm expecting another.

Salford are a very underrated side, just like us!

Salford will be very similar to our first 3 games.
It will be close, with only 6-8 points between the sides and it could go either way.
Salford look like a difficult side to beat and although they hung on to their SL status by the narrowest of narrow margins, they are certainly not easy-beats and Sunday will be just as tough as Saints or Hull.

Hopefully we can build on Fridays win and back it up with another.

It goes without saying that, we need to take points of the clubs our our ilk, especially at home.

Cant decide whether we want another mud bath or a dry pitch but, our defence has been excellent so far and therefore I'm hoping for a narrow Wakefield win.

I was hoping this game would be the nearest thing in SL to an easy game - but Salford's performances so far make it now one of the more difficult.

From what I've seen of Salford so far they look a lot more fitter this year than they did last year.
Should be a cracking game.

We've had the advantaged of keeping our main spine of 1,6,7,9 and 13 together from last year so we're more in tune then a lot of teams we've faced. We've had to play the past few games with a makeshift second row with the likes of Huaraki and Murdoch Masila to come back having not played this year.

Most of if not all of our wins last year were against teams without one or both of their halfbacks missing (Lui was absent at BV last year).

That's not fake......maybe slightly exaggerated but every one of the mid season run had that scenario. I remember commenting on it.

Huddersfield home Brough was the only senior half. Leeds away no McGuire.
Wigan no Williams, Wire no Sandow.. Widnes no Brown. Saints last week no Smith.
Yes you can play only what's in front of you. But Salford should be at full strength so it should be interesting.

Moving away from the halves though, for the first competetive game this season, we should be pretty much at full strength in the front row.

Chester said in pre and post match St Helens interviews that Allgood will be fine for this weekend, and that England should be OK. He also said Kirmo would be fine too.

Only real notable absentees are BJB, Jowitt and Hirst I think

I dont think we have much to fear if we can replicate the defence and game management from the Saints game. We need to get a bit more oil into our attacking structures but we've had wholesale changes in the pivots so I suppose will take a little time.

I think Walker may have earned a promotion up the front row pecking order. If Allgood is selected he will have to be in nature like his name. No comment from me as I do not remember seeing him play other than in pre season when he got injured.

With regard to the Salford game - very difficult to call, since they're so up and down; they can play some really good attacking rugby - but they can also implode. I would advocate a further display of back to basics rugby a la the Saints game, focusing on defence, high completion, and creating opportunities for Miller and Williams to do what they do in the opposition 20. And make sure that Griffin is well taken care off - he'll make mincemeat of a centre/winger combo who don't trust each other enough to hold their positions in defence.
