I was standing on the corner on the North Stand end of the ground (opposite corner to Donny Road)and the speaker system there was terrible could hardly hear the announcements!

They were much better in the East stand. Definite improvement.

Sorry to hear that, my opinion was based on East stand seating and as we walked in through the North stand, just presumed they were all up to same standard. MC has put on twitter that the scanners for the season tickets hadn't arrived yesterday hence people being waved through with them. I went in through Cats bar and wasn't even asked to show mine at both doors, hopefully this will be in place for next home game. Thought security staff were a definite improvement on last season and we can put can/bottlegate to bed.

Well, I'll not be too critical at the moment. There was a bit of a swirly wind blowing yesterday and sometime that can play tricks!

The 3 seats beside me were marked as for season ticket holders whereas mine was not.
I'm hoping to avoid any disputes in future by the people beside me vouching that it is my seat before some people from the wings decide they would rather randomly sit in the centre seats (as I saw happen numerous times last season).

| Our seats were taken. Did not make an issue of it as one was a child and the other older than me. Looked at end of match. No stickers on them. Also a problem getting back in after going to toilet.Son went and people had bolted doors and he couldn't get back in for 5 mins. No stewards around to sort it.

| My experience was mixed. Coming through Super Bowl area was a total disgrace with litter. Maybe not ours but first impressions count.
Walked to the usual steps behind East stand, all blocked with new fencing. Walked back to the slope at Cats bar. Wife needing a hip and knee replacement so was in pain. Got to toilet block and a small barrier in place. People were walking along and past the barrier and a bloke randomly stood in my way and said "have you got tickets", I said yes thanks and tried to get past him but he blocked me. He told me he wanted to see mine which in the end I did, meanwhile people were walking past. He had no i.d. or hi viz jacket, just a random bloke with the charisma and intelligence of a slug. Came out at half time for a drink at the East stand love shack but gave up after 10 minutes in the queue. Walked down to the ladies with my wife and at the gents toilet it was mayhem as the outer door was locked to stop people getting into the ground! The new jobsworth at the barrier was telling all those that had gone out could not come back in. He told us that if my wife went to the ladies, she could not come back in, ticket or no ticket and directed us to the disabled toilet at the other end of the stand. We walked down to the toilet being used by blokes not potty trained to lift the seat to another area strewn with rubbish and missed the re-start. Teething problems but unpleasant. Belle Vue is an utter dump sadly but all we have. However... not too despondent in the pub after, as other than errors, the effort was there.

I think Carter is doing a brilliant job.

| No stewards whatsoever outside the West stand turnstyles, never known that before so no seggragation or bottle snatching.
Burgers excelent but ran out of ketchup not counting the blob flying of my grandsons hotdog into the cup o tea of a Widnes supporter, she never noticed.
Thought the floodlights might have been switched on for the 2nd half at least.
Rather sad the dancers have been sacked. Anyone know why?
Bitterly cold, can't wait for "summer".

Some significant improvements but not Rhinos standard because we don't have the money.

Sorry, but can't agree that having a successful club is all down to money. It's probably slightly ironic you have chosen Leeds as an example, when for years they won nothing by bringing over expensive imports, then they probably invested less money on junior development and have reaped the rewards ever since. Why are Salford not making great strides? Outside the perceived top 4 or 5 clubs I would think they are in the healthiest position financially of everyone thanks to Mr. Koukash, yet they don't seem to be going forward, probably because of poor decision making as re. coaching and player recruitment, not because of lack of funds?
How on Earth can Leicester be top of the Premier League in a sport at the top end dominated by billionaires?! They signed a player from the French 2nd division for £400,000, peanuts compared to the £30 million plus Liverpool paid for Benteke, yet which one is in the running for player of the year?! Sometimes it's not about how much money you have, it's what you do with it.

Yeah exactly, played for Halifax as well didn't he, just goes to show what gems you can unearth if you dig deep enough. If they won it, it will change the way people think about British sport forever, no longer will people be able to use having not as much money as someone else as a reason for failure.

Could not agree more.
However to be far on Carter the club was such a mess when he took over he had no choice but to priorities - a bit like Smith is doing on the field.
The fact that he has sorted so many of the basics out shows how much there was to do. It's all very hand to mouth at the moment but you get the impression that money is no longer being wasted or worse just loss. Also slowly but surely revenue streams that should have been tapped into years ago are coming on line.
Crappy looking though the temporary fencing behind the East stand may be the idea is sound - why wasn't this done years ago. The supposedly wealthiest fans were stuck in the one part of the ground where they couldn't spend their dosh easily, how daft is that. Ditto the ticketing, yes there appear to be flaws at the moment which will be sorted I'm sure but the logic is sound. Ditto ditto the shirt sponsor and the obvious reversing of the kits.
This is all good stuff but it's not spectacular and the results will take time to show, but I agree with Carter - it's the only way to resurrect the club long term.
If by some fluke we have a great season and say go to Wembley I now firmly believe that the club is in the position to plow it straight back in to the team rather than pay the tax man. If that actually did happen (yes I know unlikely) I reckon we could really start to move forward for the first time in years.

Well at the risk of half contradicting myself, obviously money is important in all walks of life, no getting away from that, but I suppose what i'm trying to say is, having lots of it, in any business is no guarantee of success, no good if you don't have the right people making crucial decisions at the right time etc, and a bit of luck helps too! I certainly don't profess to know how to run a professional sports club, i'm sure it's very difficult, like you say MC was faced with a lot of crap to deal with, and yes it does look like at last there is some light at the end of the tunnel. I know people have differing views on here obviously, but I think a lot of people who are perceived to be negative are just probably frustrated and fed up at how we seem to take one step forwards then seemingly two back half the time, although some are just negative for the sake of it. Like you say though hopefully this is the start of something real, concrete and long lasting, because under Agar, Glover and Elston, whilst it was fun while it lasted, it was never any of those things!
Yep, a trip to Wembley would be nice, you never know, a few favourable draws got us to the semis a few years ago under Kear. been a long time since '79.....
