That time of year again, pundit predictions have just been published on Sky Sports News.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Jon Wells both pipped us to drop.

Yup. There’s been many a pundit for 22 years saying we will finish bottom. Not a surprise at all.

They only copy and paste same prediction year on year.

There might be a relegation battle at Sky this season, apparently Jon Wilkins is joining them, so does that mean somebody has got dropped, incidentally when interviewed by that Aussie blonde with the big teeth he was quick to point out that along with Toulouse, us and Salford were most in danger of being relegated, looks like another season watching Sky games with the mute button on.

Can't stand Wilkin, pleased he didn't get the nod for the 4 job.
He tends to elaborate on other presenters comments and never offers anything original.

From what I hear, many in attendance were drawn there under false pretences.

Salford will surprise a lot this season.
Half backs are top quality.

All the backs were quality. They didn't get out of their own half for the 1st 10 minutes as there forwards were dominated by Cas but they started attacking from their own half with the backs out wide to great effect a bit like Cas in 2017. Wonder if thats any thing to do with their assistant coach?

Just watched the highlights on sky and to be fair both sides came up with some quality tries ,obviously not privy to the whole game and still early door for both teams ,but on this showing/result Salford are off to a flier .

Come and see me again when injuries hit, you are a sportsman and you know that it’s a marathon not a sprint.

They are like we were in 2019, if we could have kept that starting 17 all season we could have gone the distance but once the injuries set in you know what happened.

I don’t know yet if our starting 17 is as good as Salford but I know we have more depth.

That said it’s a good win and a bad start for Cas I must admit but easy is pushing it

Salford have the opportunity to put a number of wins together before they meet one of the so called top teams.

That's a good point, us on the other hand play all the top teams first, and by the time we get round to playing the perceived lesser teams where we could assume to win some, we might be crippled with injuries.

Alternatively, we may have won a few and be in good shape



An excellent win for Salford and a coupon killer, it certainly fooled everyone on the predictions league.

Andrew Fifita has looked very fit and played really well in the All Stars Match this morning. He would have been a major asset in a bottom of the table scrap should we find ourselves in one. He would possibly have remotivated David as well so who knows how good they could have been if reunited.

I think David is motivated and was fantastic for us last year and looking good in pre season. David isn’t one I would say needs motivation. I do think it would be a good move if we could get his brother over even short term.
