| Quote ="Bully_Boxer"I was under the impression that points deduction was dealt with on a case by case basis. Now if it transpires that we aren't planning to honour all our debts and have gained some advantage by doing so then yes we should receive some points penalty.
But if we DO honour the liabilities and have brought a conclusion to the ownership saga, then surely there can be little reason to deduct points?'"
' planning ' to honour and actually paying are very different things, how long into the season are the Bulls to be given? , until a points deduction wouldnt relegate them perhaps?

I was just about to make the same point. Is there a deadline to make full payment? I could tell my mate I'm going to pay him back ; doesn't mean it'll happen anytime soon. Whether bulls fans like it or not, the whole situation stinks and if no points deduction is made on a "technicality" as described above re: administration then I for one will never enter odsal again.

Regardless of my sympathy for the RFL in finding themselves in a situation where they had to approve a legal mechanism that they had previously said would result in sanctions, I have already made the decision not to go to Odsal again, the decision made so much easier because it is by far the worst ground in rugby. Hate the place.
What has put the RFL in this position is those running the Bulls. I have no sympathy with them.

I'm fairly sure that the Salford creditors have an agreement where they will be paid in full, but over an extended period of time. Although they didn't enter administration, they certainly renegotiated the terms of their debt when the clubs was taken over. Do you think they should they be penalised?

| No Salford should not be punished. Bradford entered administration be it for 1 minute end of. Not read anything anywhere as to how Bradford will get the money to pay off their creditors. They couldn't pay them before so how will they do it now, especially if Ok starts legal proceedings to get his money back.

So if Bradford pay all creditors they should still get a points deduction in your opinion?
There hasn't been enough information released to say how they'll deal with creditors of Ok Bulls, which include HMRC and Bradford Council, so making an informed judgement isn't possible at the moment IMO.
OK put directors loans into OK Bulls, which he owned, and losing that is the risk you take investing money into any business.

Yes they should as a precedent has been set, WTW made agreement to pay creditors back and following going in to administration only a few weeks before the 2011 season and selling off a number of players to satisfy the administrators liabilities they suffered a 4 point penalty and started the season on -4 points as did North Wales Crusaders HTH

You are not paying all creditors - I suspect Omhar Kahn will be left wanting for his money for starters and the rest - well hows about we pay you £3k of the £10k we owed you and we'll keep buying your product for the next 3 years? Deal? Ok, lets do that!
We have had to similar to that whilst still trading through, so the power is with the supplier - if they won't deal then they could just make a claim. In the Bulls situation you can now choose who, when and how you do a deal - there is nothing the creditors can do - unless you need to use them again.
Let's cut the pretence that this is just cosmetic - it's Bulls**t!

| Bradford went into Administration therefore they should be subject to a 6pt deduction which can be reduced to 4pts if they make concerted efforts to pay the creditors of the previous company.
The rules are in force, rules which have been applied to other clubs in similar positions, the RFL really dont have any deliberations to go through, there are no extenuating or mitigating circumstances here so the decision is straight forward.
It doesn't matter if Bradford pay every penny to every creditor, the precedent has been set, the amount of points deducted can be reduced by 2pts from 6pts to 4pts! END OF, THAT'S IT!
Anything other than the above will be nothing short of a scandal and an abdication of responsibility by the sports Governing body. The RFL Directors and officers need to be very careful about their next move, their positions as Directors of a SGB demand a level of transparency, fairness, integrity and competence. They already stand accused of deceit and subterfuge in their dealings with Bradford Bulls, any more questionable acts and they could find themselves in trouble.

I'm not saying it's cosmetic but nobody has said creditors will or won't get paid other than a comment from one of the current directors at the fans forum last year saying Omar Khan would not be getting anything. As I understand it suppliers haven't been extending credit to the Bulls anyway so the number of trade creditors is likely to be low. 2 other creditors are Bradford Council and HMRC, so how they deal with those should come into the public domain and that'll be one way to judge if they are repaying and to what extent.

But we already know they won't be, since their ineptitude at running a business appears to extend to their web admin, who posted then quickly removed a story saying that the Bulls will suffer no points deduction. That suggests to me that this is all pre-planned, but the Bulls didn't follow the script of Big Nige's latest attempt to fool the RL public, whom he clearly regards to be as thick as mince. I can imagine the hasty phone call to Odsal when he spotted that particular faux-pas.
If anyone outside of RL cared a jot, this governing body would be stripped of any power and discredited for the inept crooks they are; since no one is looking however, they can do pretty much as they like without fear of censure.
The sad part is that if Bradford scrape through at the expense of another club (ourselves, Cas, Widnes etc) nobody but the fans of the wronged club will give a damn; that's what RL has come to in this country - clubs are pitted against each other on non-rugby matters such that any misfortune that befalls one club is a source of joy for the fans of many others. I haven't looked at the nutjob forum for a while, but I'm willing to bet that there is a lengthy thread taking great pleasure in our recent H&S issue for example. It's a sad state of affairs.
Meanwhile, as others have said, I won't set foot in Odsal ever again; I hate the place anyway, so it's not a difficult decision.

| I'm more interested in what went on prior to administration. Have they had any undue financial assistance? If so, was the RFL a creditor? Have they been able to walk away from a huge debt to the governing body that allowed them to keep a team they couldn't afford?
It's the questions about the period in the close season that require answers, not the technicality of administration, because let's face it, the team they have been allowed to keep and build on would be safe even with a points deduction. The points deduction issue is a bit of a sideshow in reality.
I know the Bulls fans go on about losing Bateman, but given his supposed potential, he would have gone anyway. They have added to their squad with players other clubs couldn't afford, and seemingly they couldn't afford either.
I see that Moore has stated that he misunderstood the situation, hence his statement that there would be no points deduction. There is a due process to follow. Moore's statement has really put the cat amongst the pigeons, because if the RFL don't want to deduct points, the due process is a sham, just window dressing. The RFL might need to impose a deduction to protect their own standing now.

| Usually go to all games I can but don't think I will go to Bradford will feel bad about not supporting the team but if Bradford escape this without any penalties then it will leave a very bitter taste after all we were told if you go into admin you go out of super league. The new owners must have deep pockets if no players are to be sold I know they have made cuts to the backroom staff but I wouldn't have thought any big earners have gone x

Well they did sign another forward (Mexico) very recently, why would they do that if they knew they could not afford it ?
Also here is another clue. Should they get relegated or fold altogether, how will the RFL get paid rent at their Iconic Stadium ?
Its in the RFL's financial interest that they remain in SL and continue to receive the appropriate funding otherwise how do the RFL collect their rental monies.
Come on Slugger a man of your calibre should have worked it all out

My view is that the RFL make decisions that they believe to be the least worst option available, but there is then a knock-on effect when they have to make another decision. I don't believe we can be too critical of the RFL for trying to stop Odsal from being sold under them, trying to protect a club, and also for trying to keep a club in existence. I can accept that they have done it for the right reasons.
What is the issue is whether they would have done the same for us (no, is the answer) and whether it creates an uneven playing field on the playing field (yes, is the answer).

odsal should of been sold, its not a modern stadia as is Belle Vue and is pulling them down the pan as well.
how much more money do clubs need to waste in repairing the unrepairable, there's only so much polishing to a turd before it smudges and looks a mess
