I will ask again, why would a lad who's got his foot in the door on his NRL career sign for a mid table SL side? We all know it won't be money related.'"
Oh well if you put it like that then you must be right, maybe not money related but how about coming over here for a couple of years for the the experience of top grade football, or can't you think that far ahead.

Mate before coming on here to pick an argument with me, look into it?
The press can't praise him enough, Cronulla obviously rate him and he's trained with the NRL team since his impressive season in the NYC.
If I'm wrong, I'll take it back but at the moment I would be very surprised if it's him.

On the back of this, how many young aussie prospects have come over to SL for experience?

| We have lost games this season by downright dumbness. We need a brain on the pitch, someone who can recognise the game situation and respond accordingly. I would have thought a steady experienced halfback who has seen it and done it, would be the type of player we need to bring in.

Sounds like Brough to me if he can sort out his discipline.....

Played in NZ rather than the NRL and then spent the rest of his career in SL/Union.
Great player but I don't think he came over for experience, more a step up in his career. A young prospect moving from the NRL to SL wouldn't be a step up IMO

But surely with Roberts leaving at the end of the season they are in the same boat squad wise, can`t see them changing there mind on the 2 year deal they gave him 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I had looked at the squad to be fair but hadn't seen he'd just signed a deal, fair enough.

I thought the point Chissit was making is him getting "a couple of years for the the experience" to then go back and fulfill his potential in the NRL - Paul built and played his whole career over here in the UK.
Although there are a few examples, there are not a lot of young Aussies that come over for a step up or the experience and return a success, most either stay and make a career for themselves over here or go back and play outside of first grade.

Played U20s Origin this morning, added to the not playing 2017 through injury bit, cannot be him. Presume the rumour, if true, is going to be a forward not a back or half.

Maybe I read it wrong but in my eyes he certainly came over for experience and used that experience to further his career, albeit he did that over here but would certainly have been an incredible player back in Australia if he'd felt the need.

I believe it's Drinkwater and King however I would prefer it to be Drinkwater and Kopczak

By your own admission you've had multiple accounts on here so I'm sure you know how it works, but I'll explain just in case, you have an opinion and you post it on here then the other posters either ignore you or agree with you, or, or form a different opinion, my first post asked you why you had that opinion, my second post differed with your reply so perhaps you can tell me why I am picking an argument.
Just because "Cronulla obviously rate him" does not mean they are not prepared to let him come to us with a proviso that they get first choice on his return, apples and pairs I know but it happens all the time in football with the loan system, until there's a regular place for him and having his dad as 1st team coach is no guarantee, then if he's not good enough for the first team and no other NRL club want him then it's not out of the question that we won't get him assuming it's him we are after.
If your wrong you'll look rather silly with your belief that he won't be coming, not sure how much influence Pete smith has had on you, I'll let you know on Friday after I've spoken to him

I know how the forum works. Your second reply, imo was very condescending but admittedly that's down to my own perception.
This is the exact same argument that from a few weeks back when I suggested selling MJ and TJ and all I got back was "why would we sell our talent", why would Cronulla sell their talent?
I will indeed look silly but either way I'll come back to this and comment accordingly.
That's fine mush, when you do see Pete let him know he still owes me the £3.50 for the Friday sandwich I got him!
