The RFL could chuck Bulls out of SL, and bring in another franchisee to Odsal. Maybe even you lot, if your stadium plans get shafted again.
Different tenant, same rent (if not more). What IS your problem?
I think Bradford fans should just be happy about the deal they have.
I don't know of any posts on here that actually attack the Bradford fans, so I really don't understand antagonism from Bulls fans.
I think most Bulls fans will understand why there is annoyance from other clubs when they have been given such a helping hand.
As for the Bulls being put out of SL get real.
Whatever you say about WTW we have had to fight tooth and nail for every year of our SL existance which is more than can be said for some clubs!

| Quote ="wrencat1873"Heres a simple question for you. Are the RFL more or less likely to favour a team that they have loaned money to (or bought out a lease) ? simple answer, more or less ?

Provided the RFL specify that a club replacing Bradford must play at Odsal, it should make no difference.
And anyway, do you know how much the payment to Bradford is? Or how much the annual rentals will be? If the payment was £1m and the rentals were £0.5m p.a. would you still be so wound up? Can you tell us at what point - how many multiples of the annual rent - WOULD you feel the need to get wound up?
You DID know that the RFL has a charge on the Bulls' assets, didnt you? Including the (removable) Coral stand as well as everything else? And that, with little if anything owed to the bank, they would be well placed in the event of an insolvency?
Don't get me wrong; Bulls fans can get wound up over perceived injustices as much as the next fan. But wouldn't it be a bit better to see what more detail comes out before jumping to conclusions? For my own part, I am relieved for the immediate future, but concerned that we have saddled ourselves with significant extra costs for the future - to cover which we now need to secure significant additional income. And it is three years till the next Licenses come into effect. A lot can happen in that time.

| The only "antagonism" coming from Bulls fans is in response to some of the comments being expresssed alleging unfair treatment and whatever. Most of us were as shocked as the next man with the news.
If you choose to take Booaza seriously that is your own affair; none of us do.
My comments about you vs Halifax was deliberately couched in similar tones to those being used from your side - so you could see just how unhelpful they were, and maybe therefore see the same in some from your side. Even so, seen from their side the way YOU were "favourably" treated was seen as unfair. Rightly or wrongly.
And some on here may recall I was on your side during your troubles. And contributed financially accordingly.

Yes, because it is still a case of double standards from the RFL. We asked for a loan from them last year and they refused us so we ended up in administration, which very nearly cost us our SL status (depending on what you believe from the lack of info that came out from the licensing process).
Don't get me wrong , as I said before, it probably did us good in the end to go into admin and start afresh but it also meant that we lost a lot of good players and couldn't sign anyone because of the cloud that hung over us thanks to the RFL's reluctance to help one of their member clubs.
Why can you not get your head around the sense of injustice?????????

Adey, that’s nonsense.
Quote ="Adeybull"Don't forget, the RFL could very easily have chucked you guys out of SL and brought Halifax in in your place. Indeed, Halifax fans detest the RFL with a passion for showing you such blatant favouritism and ensuring that you would not be relegated.'"
The only reason Wakefield weren’t kicked out is because the Crusaders dropped their bombshell the day before the licences.
Yep they could have kicked them out and replaced them with Fax, but the only thing which would have scored higher would have been the Stadium, they may as well have given a licence to Doncaster, far better facilities.
Blatant favouritism! Correct analogy - wrong club.

Bulls already did. On a 150 year lease.
What Bulls are NOW doing is a sale and leaseback, to generate some cash NOW AND to Steer the Stadium into a safe haven where developers cannot take advantage of our current comparatively weak situation to coerce us to leave.

| As I have said elsewhere, this is BUSINESS. The RFL thought it was worthwhile to enter into this transaction, and that is why they have done so. To compare it to your situation, where you basically wanted a handout to be given to a poorly run club without a clear viable future, is absurd.
Wakefield are not the same as the Bradford and Id be disgusted if the RFL treated them as if they were.

| Haha, I dont like the reality so therefore I decide I am correct and anybody who disagrees is the fool. The bulls did not need this to happen, unlike your club last year.
I am pleased that Wakey are in a better position and hopefully this allows you to build into a club that is important to the competition moving forward. At that point, the RFL may be more open to getting involved in helping you in the future. Obv you may need a few more fans through the gates, but a competitive team should help with that.
What part of the my post is arrogant by the way?? The last time I checked, rugby is a business, and it is clear that bradford are more important to the rugby business than wakey/cas etc. It is also clear they have a better history and fan base on which to build moving forward therefore making them a better candidate to invest alongside?

Funnily enough, the RFL concluded in the Licensing review that the Bulls were a well-run club with a clear future. But what do they know, eh?
Its hard work on here. If you have a property, and you sell it and rent it back, how does that make it a handout? Do tell us.

Id be worried about your eyesight then. The people who run our club secured this deal so cant be doing that bad of a job. We also had a lease in place, regardless of the deal, that we could afford the rent for and a strong fan base to support out club moving forward.

It doesn't, it's a common business practice and there is nothing wrong with what Bradford have done.
What I find difficult to swallow is the bull that is was purchased to stave off preditors/developers and to safeguard a wonderful historic stadium. You have a 150 year lease which gives you security of tenure and the only reason the RFL have bought it it that you are in the financial clag - nothing wrong with that, by God we know all about that - and the RFL have have bailed you out with what is in effect a loan. Why don't the RFL express it that way rather than the crap they have spouted.
Whether loans to some and not others is fair is of course another matter for debate.

This part.
You have better crowds, yes, although a lot of that is to do with your current "giving away" of season tickets. Most clubs could get more ST holders and bigger crowds if they decided to run at a massive loss and give tickets away for £60. Maybe if you had sold your tickets for a more reasonable price you wouldn't need to be begging for a handout.
As for the better history and future, we'll have to agree to disagree. If we get the nod for Newmarket, Wakefield will re-emerge as one of the biggest clubs in RL, watch this space!

| It would be a black day for the sport of rugby league if a club with the size and status that Bradford currently enjoy ceased to operate.
It's been suggested elsewhere that the real reason behind the bail-out is to pay off the HMRC in connection with the image rights issue. If this is indeed the case, the Bradford club may not be the only club hit hard by this, and the RFL were right to act, even if their explanation for acting leaves a lot to be desired.
