Have a read on the Cas forum. It's a done deal. Peter Gentle has already been given the job, crossed all the i's and t's, met all the players, had a Tigers tattoo etc etc. Was to be announced Tuesday 16th August, then in this weeks Ponte &Cas but now they're holding it back as a P.R. thing.
It's a bit of a jigsaw, just wating for the final piece.

If true, it's a good catch for Cas - would've liked to have seen him at WTW.

He was never coming to us and I'll tell you why.
RW and the Cas sycophants who inhabit the media and the game in general will have sold Cas as the following.
Best supported club in the world IN ANY SPORT.
Best fans around, every one salt of the earth.
A club who have been a regular top 8 team during the SL era - apart from the umpteen seasons they were not or the two seasons they were in NL1.
Fantastic existing stadium who's atmosphere is only bettered in parts of Brazil as are it's toilets.
A super fantastic new stadium in the pipeline, who's foundation are about to be started on a daily basis.
The best and most exciting youngsters in the world, everyone of whom is handsome and loyal to Cas and is destined for stardom at Hull.
Come on mate, AG may be better than Ted at the PR but we can never match the above - who can. I reckon that in three years time that if we have a new stadium - have won SL - increased our gates 3 fold - have a team in which every player was born within 100 yards of the Bullring - whilst Cas had non of the above RW would still be selling Cas as better and getting away with it.

The only bit I can argue with is the last paragraph - I like to think that once AG is comfortably ensconced in his berth as the Chairman of a SL club, he might just start to catch up with RW in terms of selling the club to the media and the public. Just hope he avoids the Jackanory stuff though - that's all a bit embarassing.

| Quite glad reading through some of the fuss has been taken off Mr Gentle! For weeks various forums have been having a fest over a guy I'd bet 90% had never heard of or know his style.
Yes obviously he can't be bad as Wests / Aus number 2 but also recall he has only stepped into those roles this season with Royce Simmons departure to Saints. He could well be the bee's knees but could also flop badly, only time will tell.
Also worth a mention that around the time the other week when you were interviewing Johm Stankevitch tweeted about being wanted as 'head of youth' somewhere, could be linked, quite possibly not but worth a note

| I've seen the YEP link us with Matt Adamson in the last couple of weeks (and yes it might be misinformed journalism), but reading this, if he is in contention for the job, this doesn't exactly paint him as the type of fella you can rely on...

Just reads like handbags at dawn really mate, Who ever gets the Head coach job here will start with a clean slate for me with the odd exception like Agar and Goulding.

| I'd say Francis Cummins with Nigel Wright as number 2. I'd also have another coach for fitness and another specifically for defence.
Maybe:
1. Cummins
2. Wright
F. ?
D. Poching
Whatever happens I think we need a change of fitness staff, this element of our game has been lacking for a number of years and IMO is something we need to sort out asap.
While we have been in super league (including our playoff years) I don't think we have ever had the "killer instinct" attitude- don't get me wrong (in patches) we've had some brilliant form, a hell of a lot of memorable matches & beaten the best the league has to offer. But I reiterate my point that we've never had the "killer instinct" . A fitness coach/good mental leadership would be immense steps to creating/maintaining this element.
Although I'd love Peter Gentle to come if at all possible. Latest word is Bradford to replace Potter.

I wouldnt mind that for a coaching team especially as they would know what the game means to the fans and what Trin are all about, I cant really see what or why most people seem to be huge fans of Peter Gentle but i dont watch alot of NRL and dont really know much about him. But hopefully the coach will be announced tomorrow!!

I think Nigel Wright will be a brilliant choice in a few years time, the bloke has an excellent attacking brain on him, even now I dare say we wouldn't be playing the same, boring and ineffectual way JK has us going!
I hope they like it in Cas Vegas!

Looking forward to hearing who's appointed head coach and assistant this coming week!

| You would imagine that the head coach must have already been appointed and have had an influence in the interviews then.
The plot thickens. As I said before I'd love for us to land Peter Gentle, but only time will tell.
