| To me it sounds like the BOD are trying to re-capitalise the club, repay any outstanding directors loans and let the club go into admin, as far as I am aware is Ted still trying to reclaim the money he lost in the land deal if so it sounds like he would like/need a penny or two for himself!

| I must admit that even up until lunchtime when I registered my interest in applying I was letting my heart rule my head. A number of posters on here have raised pertinent questions to which no answers have been forthcoming. Having taken stock of the situation I have come around to the way of thinking that :
(a) there is no chance we are getting a SL franchise for 2012 and we are kidding ourselves if we think otherwise.
(b) my grand would be better invested after the club goes into admin, and can be bought back (provided this does not involve any of the current BOD) and start afresh in the lower leagues.
(c) there has been some serious financial mismanagement at the club for us to get into this mess, I would be interested to know what the non playing wage bill was for the last few years. There seems to be three people in certain areas doing various roles that could be combined and done by 1.
(d) I doubt this issue has suddenly reared its head since we came back from the xmas break and consequently I can't believe the club has signed players with this financial cloud hanging over us. These guys all have families and a living to earn and it was in my opinion irresponsible of the club to sign them (unless they were told the full story and walked in with their eyes open).
(e) The sceptic in me can't help thinking that some of this debt will be linked back to Ted and end up in his pocket.
So in summary, unless someone can allay the valid concerns raised by many on here, I will be keeping my money in my pocket.

| If I could be certain that this would save the club long term and I could persuade the other half, I would take some shares, I don't even mind going into the championship, infact the best game I've been to this season was Batley v Widnes at Blackpool. The problem as I see it is a complete lack of information, which I'm afraid appears to be the norm with our club. You cannot ask someone for money without assurances of what is being done with it and until I know that mine is staying in the bank.

| I askes this question on another thread but ill ask it again here. In the statement by the club it said the previous potential investors pulled out despite " assurances" from the rfl, sl and the stadium developers. What were they? What exactly could the rfl assure them? And are these assurances made available to those they want money off now?

| I am not a financial person but have bought shares in the club on numerous occasions.
having gone through numerous threads and having attended the meeting the other night these are my views
I cannot count the number of times we have been asked to chip in, debentures a long time ago, 10k to be an associate director, £2 a week to assist with debt. I knew the other night when the meeting was called that there would be some sort of cash appeal.
Well FWIW the club are sending letters out to shareholders, I am certain I wont get one they cannot even update my address from the early 90's when I bought my first set of shares, even though I am a season ticket holder at my current address. That speaks volumes to me about the business management of the club
My honest opinion is SL so what i want to watch decent RL, if that means the club folding or being available after the 321 january for a supporters trust type take over ala was it Bournemouth, then I could see it being very positive for a SL application a club owned by the fans promoted by the fans and run as a transparent business.
You only have to look in some other sports some principles are worth sticking to. If I am honest I do not trust the current BoD I have supported my club throughout the years but I am sick and tired of it being dragged through the gutter every season with bad press. Let it die and rise from the ashes I will gladly invest then.
I look forward to my letter but as usual I monitor this site for SH information

A perfect summary of my thought process too; I'd invest in the club if it was being bought from the administrator and run by a supporters trust - I will definitely not be donating to this desperate attempt to pay off debts that are the result of the current BoD's mismanagement.

| Seems that yet again there are more questions than answers. The way of getting this money out of supporters seems to be to question their loyalty to the club in some kind of emotional blackmail, makes you proud doesn't it.

| I went to the meeting at Belle Vue in October regarding the new ground. Some days later I stood outside the Town Hall all morning waiting for the outcome of the outline planning meeting. On both occassions I came away feeling buoyed and happy that things were going well.
How do I feel now? A right mug that's what.
I've got my season ticket (I'm a Gold Member or is that Gold Mug?) and will continue to support the 17 blokes who pull on the shirt every week because I love Wakefield Trinity the team but have lost my love for Wakefield Trinity the club.
In over thirty five years of watching this once great club I've seen it stagger from one crisis to another off the field. (and the odd one or two on it)There's been more broken promises than I care to remember, fans treated like mushrooms (kept in the dark and fed $h1t occasionally), except when they wanted us to stump up some cash.
It just looks like the BOD have gambled the future of the club on the spin of a roulette wheel, and lost.
PS. If Yorkcourt are still sure thatthey will eventiually gain full pp why not show a bit of faith and stump up the 350K now? I suspect unlike me they are not mugs.

A little bit more information here for you Wakefield fans:
www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/ja ... al-straits
I sincerely hope you come through this, however, whichever path you choose to take I hope you stand by the name of Wakefield Wildcats whether it be through paying the £1k or by other routes. Rugby League would be poorer without you.

| Quote ="kinleycat"=#BF0040It has to be said, there are a he'll of a lot of questions and not much by the way of answers. The few that defend at all costs this BoD are noticeable by their absence or unwillingness to answer the numerous questions posted.
Whatever happens it's clearly the end of the BoD and all it's hangers on, I can't see this share scheme coming off as much as I would love it to it's a total no brainer.
Therefore it's a private investor/group or bust, quickly followed by either previously mentioned investor/group snapping us up with a 4 point deduction and a franchise threat or oblivion.
Whats going to happen who knows, but to me it feels like a cat who's used up eight of it's lives and isn't sure if it can even bother going through with it's ninth.
TBH its so gutting, one cock up after another, crisis after crisis, maybe the best thing is to take it to the vets!!!
Totally gutted, totally fed up, had enough!!!'"
I think you will find that most people are respecting the shareholders - and their letters have mostly gone out today.

| You only have to the shareholders who have posted, they are also asking questions, and the clubs efforts in contacting shareholders in the past is well known.
In my opinion the club should Informing everyone, they cannot afford to be discriminating with this begging bowl.

| Anybody who puts a grand into this hairbrained scheme is mad. The money is to see the club through the season. £350,000 til franchise day, £500,000 til the end of the season. Come october and no franchise, bye bye wakey. If you can't see that then you probably aren't the calibre of person needed to run the club anyway.

And by not putting anything in you accelerate the whole process and make the decision for the RFL.
At the moment, there is no queue of people waiting to buy the club if it does fail - which could just result in the business being broken up and liquidated.
Tough choices!
