| Quote ="Sandal Cat"To be fair GH was mentioned to give the Shareholders the ability to formaly reject any chance of considering it which they did so that end that.
There is a viable Plan B to cover us until Newmarket comes forward but has been said until all the i's have been dotted and the t's crossed the club do not wish to make a formal announcement. That will be done in conjunction with the other party at the appropriate time. Plan B is financially viable and would enable us to function satisfactorily until Newmarket is built.
The Club is seeking new investment, that's no secret, they have been seeking it for sometime now and have had setbacks and will continue to seek that investment but whether you wish to believe the fact that we have a Plan B or not is up those reading these forums.'"

time scale is anything from 6 months to 18 months and Yorkcourt are still 100% onboard to deliver the stadium.
Which is some good news to come of it all

| Quote ="TRB"Plan B - which has been in discussion for around 12 months - is likely to be what most people imagine it to be, but may not be. In deference to the other parties involved, and their own requirements to advise their own supporters of the deal, it was agreed that any announcement would come at a later date.
Those present were asked their views, as shareholders of the club, as to the feelings towards GH, and towards other loactions. Despite a couple of comments re GH, most were dead set against the idea.
It was confirmed that it is possible that we could stay at BV in the event of us not recieving a licence - at least until NM is built.NM is viable whether in SL or NL, but of course is ultimately based on SL.
There are other issues which were discussed and I would advise all existing Shareholders to ensure that they make sure the club have your correct details so that you can be mailed to.
Onwards and upwards!'"
Then marketing it as the last season is a bit naughty.

Not having a go at you SC, but how can it be described as financially viable if we are in desperate straits already without having to pay rent to anyone - moving out of the area for a season will imo reduce the gates from regular fans, and there is no guarantee that the shortfall will be made up from new fans in the area the stadium we are to use is located. Unless Belle Vue is more expensive to run than the rent on the plan B

Timescale in in the hands of the Planning Inspectorate and it could be anything between 6 and 18 months, however we are told that YorkCourt are still committed to the project and are confident that the Stadium WILL be delivered, it just the timing thats the issue.

If so is the reality of enough cash being generated based on previous such deals, basically a dead end street?'"
Anyone?

So worst case scenario would be 18 months enquiry,6 months getting full P/P then 12 months build which would mean 2 seasons of plan B?

Tricky, we have no choice but to look at an alternative Stadium if we want to make an application. The alternative is not to apply and drop into the NL.
Belle Vue is an old Stadium which costs a great deal just to keep it in a run down state. Running costs on weekly basis and to put on SL matches is high. The cost of renting a modern stadium is less than the cost of keeping Belle Vue up to that standard - as you had already deduced.
Moving out of the area may reduce gates. I don't think so because I'm confident that our loyal fans will accept the short term pain for the long term gain - just my opinion but I believe it. I also think with better facilities we will attract more away support and the hospitality opportunities are better than Belle Vue. All in all a short term move away from Wakefield will not do us any long term harm - my opinion again.
Of course we have to get a franchise first.

You would think it was ICI !!!
Can't wait for the BP style statement, 'Yes, we have a bit of an oil leak going on, but don't worry we are going to put a big sock over the hole and that should stop it'.

IMHO we will never attract any more fans from the Wakefield area so why not try else where. Has anybody been into Wakey town centre lately it is full of non English speaking people and these people are not going to come and watch rugby. From memory there aren't any communities like we have in Wakey in Castleford,Pontefract,Featherstone. WMDC seem to house them all in Wakefield.

Why build a new ground in Wakey then ? Sounds like your advocating re-locating the club. With a competitive, professionally run club of course the crowds would return.Everything is just so negative about the club at present.

You're suggesting that the steady decline of WTW is due to immigration?! Maybe we should take out an advert in the BNP newsletter?
