Great sentiment but life is not like that. I doubt Hock has done anything worse than any number of players we have had on our books through the years including a number who are/were much loved (THAT'S A GUESS BASED ON HUMAN NATURE NOT ANY ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE) - Hock just got caught. Morals are great but trust me professional sport is not the best place to look for them, try the Salvation Army if you want redemption and souls saved

it was recreational drug not enhancing drug and like vasty said we have had players within our club that haven't been angels,

Depends where you want to draw the line I guess. Taking recreational drugs vs. beating up your partner vs. racist abuse and so on (including stuff that ex-players have got upto in the past that was either not made public or the player didn't get found out.) Once you serve your sentence, you're free to resume your career.

Good to see the moral majority are out in force. Anybody would think he had been pimping his grandma the way some people speak. Maybe we should put him in the stocks by way of penance before he should be allowed back into society at all

I think that the 'moral majority' as they termed - wouldn't want Hock at the club because they would, maybe ideally, prefer players who respect their bodies more than someone who has taken recreational drugs. Modern athletes look after themselves by not having excess alcohol, eat properly, take care of their general well-being, and stay away from products that would be detrimental to their play.

Now I understand that all young lads have the temptation of experimenting, I also understand that fans who pay hard earned money to watch athletes expect certain standards of self-respect, and that is why I would want a team I go and see be committed wholly on looking after themselves and their performances. I make no apology if that is against other peoples views of forgiveness of past transgressions, but I think Wakefield Trinity deserves better than that.

I'd take Hock! I remember the first time he played at Belle Vue, the lad ouzed quality, and near enough won the game for Wigan by himself.

People make mistakes, Hock is no different to any other. He's served his time, and should be allowed to continue to ply his trade. I'd hope if ever i was guilty of anything people would be prepared to give me a second chance.

I understand other people's opinions, but for me, the hard part is still ahead of Hock.

I don't know which planet some of you live on but the utopian Shangri-La many of you desire is just not realistic! Don't get me wrong it's an admirable goal and I'd love to have a sport where all those involved are flawless but right now that's not possible. The best we can hope for is that when young men make mistakes they learn from them and turn them into a positive and that we are big enough to accept them back and offer them that opportunity. When we can't do that it exposes us as being flawed and risks casting those who fell back into the abyss and really who or what does that serve.

Of course there are certain lines that once crossed there is no way back but let's be carefully where we draw that line.

yeah hock got caught with recreational drugs, but hes not the only current super league player who dabbles in that i assure you...

A good friend of mine is a former pro; he assures me that if every RL player who had dabbled with a banned substance, recreational or otherwise, was banned, there'd be very few players available for selection.

Hock has been penalised for his stupidity; that'll do for me. If he came to Wakey on loan, I'd be over t'moon - the lad's an animal.

Itd be nice but theres no way on gods earth if he re-signed for wigan theyd send him out on loan anywhere. Not a player of his standard anyway

Drugs tests are intelligence tests to a point - you can have an idea when you may be tested, so you would make sure whatever you do take is out of your system before then.

We've had some belters in the past so a bloke who was stupid enough to get caught with coke in his system would be way down my list of moral outrage.

I find most of your comments idiotic on this topic. Moore had a bad year last year but who didnt apart from Morrison? Can't believe some have questioned moore as a team player. The size of the man who was allways first up from a drop goal?Apart from last year how many tackles and good offloads did he make?? His effort is second to none he came back from a career threatening illness alot of men may have gave up. But he battled on.You guys are being incredibly harsh on Richard and i think its disgusting.Some of you can't have been watching week in week out like me since moore has been here. Yet Millard is on a very good wage at the club and plays like he is on the beach every week a overpaid waste of time aussie with 0 effort but its ok.Moore lost his confidence last year his best weapon was his offload and it wasn't firing last year . I agree with Mutley on this we lose moore now us and moore won't gain anything! We keep moore and get his confidence back = GOOD MOVE .

Some valid points there. Moore is always the first player up after a kick and never stops working. He might not be the player he was but could anyone come back as strong after such an illness. Personally I'm not sure he will ever be as good but there were far worse than Richard Moore last season.
