| cas panthers u11s travelled to unbeaten lower league side dewsbury moor in a re-arranged fixture has shaw cross couldnt raise a team and ran out 38-4 winners.
a good effort and despite the scoreline dewsbury never gave in and battled hard and we also made use of the game to rest a few players and move players around on the field.

| Hunslet Parkside U13 came to Stanley Rangers probably thinking they was going to rack up another decent score against us and how wrong they they must of felt, the gap is certainly closing,
with a better quality ref than you get from Leeds, this was a game to watch again, Stanley held the Parkside side to 0-4 in the first half going up hill and had a try disallowed as the ref called held up, the amount of effort put into the defense was tremendous, giving them hope for the second,
about three times the Parkside manged to stop them breaching their try line and with a few other handling errors overcome a great effort from Stanley, in the end they succumbed to the tiredness and they managed to convert it,
end result Stanley Rangers 0 - Hunslet Parkside 10
they know they was in a battle today, well pleased with lads everyone put heart and sole into this one game we couldn't of ask more
as for their parents shouting abuse again they should be ashamed of them selves, targeting one player is against junior rules but this lads shrugs it off
away at Newsome Panthers next week

| Stanley beat crigg this morning 32-28 in another cracking game with a big to both teams . A slow start from crigg letting in 2 early tries but after that it was a real nail biter . Definitely two contrasting styles with Stanley going more down the middle using the big lads to crigg trying to get it to the faster, smaller lads .
No complaints about the result , the only sour note was the young ref who seems to be in the wrong job to me - big attitude problem , I'll leave it at that , just hope he reads his respect leaflets etc . before next week !

| Yes thanks & she'll be made up that you've called her a girl ! As a child welfare officer was concerned about the referees behaviour mainly towards one of our players who ended up in tears after questioning a decision - he completely lost his rag and I thought he was going to hit her . But it's been reported and I hope he learns from it because he's not going to last long as a ref with that attitude .
Thanks for your concern anyway - she's had a couple of glasses of wine tonight & has returned to normal !

| cas panthers u11 went down 22-38 to crigglestone,an awful start by us but full credit to crigg who built up a 26-4 lead before we started playing something like what we can but in the end you cannot give teams that kind of start.
nice to meat "earnie" spongebob its always nice to put a face to a name thought your kids were very solid right across the field and had a player that we couldnt or didnt want to tackle.
good luck for the coming weeks.

| Yes - good to meet you yesterday Rob (a bit slow with the reply - went out last night & felt a bit "delicate "earlier!) , like you say , nice to be able to put a face to a name .
Great game yesterday , we started off well & have to say all over the park i thought we tackled really well . Some great passing though from the Cas lads through out the whole team , i think i said that was how we train but don't quite have the confidence to do it in a game yet - was really good to watch , some good coaching there .
Thanks for the info at the end of the game Rob - may be a case of mistaken identity though - i'll p.m. you when i hear anything.
Cheers

| No game for Crigg u11's again this week , supposed to be playing Dewsbury Celtic but apparently they can only find 6 players . Now call me an old cynic , but haven't Celtic & Shaw Cross the worst records & if there's the usual shuffle about coming up ... If Shaw Cross lose , they've lost one more , and so bye,bye to them .
Just a thought

'" its been the worse start to junior RL quite a few clubs have fallen backwards, our year has had Fev lions, hunslet Warriors and Crigg drop down
Stanley Rangers U13 away to Meltham All Blacks on sunday, where going to have to do this with 12 lads, if one can get back from his football 13,
we lost two players last week that have moved on and one that has an injury its still a strong side but have got nothing in support,
we do have another lad that has come down training but is to early to sign on for this game

| Must admit - at our age group we seem to be doing something right - had to play some games at the end of last season with only 8-9 players but now have 18 signed on . Can't say the same about the rest of the club unfortunately u16's have folded , u17's not far off & the open age had to join forces with Ketty .
The grass always seems to be greener somewhere else unfortunately nowadays. But on a positive note - there's going to be some talent about in the wakefield district in the next 6-10 years from what I've seen . (as long as they don't leave the game for something else )

that's the problem keeping players happy, the two lads that have left have found them selves pushed out of position wasn't enjoying the game and one used to travel from Mirfield so might end up at Dewsbury Moor,
my lads lost pace and has had to take second fiddler in the team but loves being with his fiends and wouldn't move away, he lost his position and plays second row which I was screaming for him last year as could see it coming, but he lacks game time to learn the position
he now has his chance to shine this week, first and foremost I make sure he enjoys the game or it will become a bind
unfortunately you can lead the horse to water but you can't make it drink
