Absolutely brilliant news for not just Wakefield fans but visiting fans and Rugby League fans in general.



Wakey need this stadium badly and the sooner the better, it will see a rise in crowds for them and if they get the planning right, which I hope they do, they will get the bigger away fans attendance as well. Sadly there are people that just won't go to BV, sad but understandable really at the moment.

Who would have funked it that Stanley would be the location?? That's come out of the blue! Looks perfect sense looking at Google maps, not much around, plenty of land and straight off the M62.

Nowhere does it say the stadium is exclusively ours, but it is in Wakefield and Cas have been the ones who were insistent they could succeed on their own.

As I live in the Rothwell side of Wakefield (the people of Rothwell voted to become part of Wakefield in 1974 but got shoved in to Leeds instead

) then Stanley is an easy place to get to. It will just be on the border with Leeds but definitely in Wakefield.
