True, but after we got it to 14-18 I was expecting us to push in, but in true Trin fashion some players switch off and we capitulate. Must say well done to Crowther though, he's had a cracking game and really tried.

| I'd be interested to know why Riley's(?) try was disallowed? Ref gave a drop out, I would've thought it was a Trinity try or a Huddersfield ball.

I was stood right in front, Riley got that ball down and scored the try for me. Hughes then ripped the ball 2 on one, and grounded it ?

| That's 3 non performances from smithin a row. Based on websters form comment surely we can't persist with the halfs as they are much longer.
Washy has been good this year and despite working on some level been 9 against saints today as soon as macshane went off we were again doggers.
Ultimately it's the errors with possession that are costing us. I have never seen a team just throw possession away so frivolously.
Sammut should play this next week as it can't get much worse that's for sure.
All my optimism has gone and we are heading for another 7/8 game losing streak. I can't see us finishing anywhere other than rock bottom now.

Me neither. The runners just aren't really there off the ball. We need the injured players back asap. We did so well for a large 30 minute period to drag ourselves back in the game and then lost all composure and started forcing passes instead of putting them under some pressure. Why do we never kick for touch?
Twice in the fourth tackle we insisted on throwing a pass that was never on and it went straight to their player. Concede a penalty on the second tackle of the game. These are silly errors that the players can cut out. They need to stick to the structures and do the basics and they won't be far off but we're making some awful individual errors. Riley knocking on from ptb. Huddersfield weren't even good. Our attitude needs to be right for Wigan 'cos we'll get smashed.
I like Tim Smith and there's a few too many relying on him atm but he needs to take the line on more to keep their defence guessing.

Not sure what you were seeing then as it was in front of me and the ball never touched the floor. The ball was stolen in the in goal area which you are allowed to do so drop out was the correct decision.

We'll I was stood at the front railings at the north stand directly in front of it, so for me he definitely got that ball down and if sky were there I think it would of been a try.
Not sure regarding the rules surrounding a 2 on one ball steal in the in goal, probably a drop out ? But i think that needs changing to a penalty on the ten.

I was right in the corner it was scored, the Huddersfield defenders hand was under the ball when Riley tried to get the ball down. It was close but it never quite made the grass sadly.

| The Sammut issue is all about where we would play him.
The guy needs to be in the halves or at full back and it's pretty clear that Webster prefers Miller at 6 and no way is Sammut better at FB than Hall.
Unless we pick up injuries in the positions that the guy can cover, he isn't going to get much game time.
I like the guy and he was a good signing at the time but, I just don't see where he fits in at the moment.

Personally i'd have Sammut at stand off ahead of Miller but thats just personal choice and Webster sees it differently. But I think Sammut could do a job at interchange hooker whilst Godinet is out which would free Washbrook up to play in his best position of backrow. It would also mean McShane wouldn't end up playing an hour straight which negates some of his effectiveness.

| The question has to be asked, what has Miller brought to the team that Sammut hasn't ????
Miller is a REASONABLE support player, but so far has created virtually nothing in attack, so we are almost totally reliant on Smith to create our scoring opportunities. I have nothing against Miller, but he is simply not performing and it is time to introduce the x-factor that Sammut clearly possesses.

| If you're not going to play one of your most creative players in Sammut (and a top earner in the squad) when WTW are losing every week then sell him and buy a hooker! (Rugby player., : ). If he is truly a 'headless chicken' or 'loose cannon' then get rid and get someone who is allowed to contribute. Every one of the 28 players should have a part to play this season and that also includes Johnstone, Jowitt, Trout and Molloy.
It's a waste of money on Sammut in what is an already tight budget
He should at least be on the bench in the coming weeks now IMHO.
We appear to be missing composure in attack and putting everything onto Tim Smith and Craig Hall.
Split the attack with Tim Smith one side of the ruck and Jarrod Sammut (instead of Miller) on the other side with Craig Hall remaining at full back as he is one of our better players.
It'll create more attacking (plus attacking kick) options and generate more problems for the opposition. Whatever you say about Sammut he knows where the try line is and will take the line on unlike Tim Smith.
