Good news indeed but it's a shame it's only a 1 year extension. If form continues to improve we may lose him to a perceived "bigger" club.

Hopefully in 1 year he'll be able to see that we are on our way to being a 'bigger' club, in the mean time I'm glad to see the news - I had reservations earlier in the season but he's proved his quality - we're lucky to have him.

its not a problem the one yr contract it takes pressure of Tim with the thoughts of being tied to a long contract

IMHO smiths only been given a year 'cos he's only had two good games for us all season, Widnes away and last sunday, been mediorcre at best for rest of year. We have looked alot better when Woody comes on.

Wood has been ineffective for the entire season! Only had a couple of good stints off the bench.

Genuine question - has Smith shown any sign of developing a running game at all? When he started with Parra he looked the goods in terms of passing and kicking (I remember Peter Sterling being genuinely hopeful that he could be the real deal for them for years), but opponents soon worked out that he was absolutely zero threat ball in hand, and he started to look very ordinary.

Ive been on here long enough to realise that alot of users look at Wakey with red,white and blue tinted glasses. I, on the other hand speak as i see.
Disagree if you want, but i never know which Tim Smith will cross the white wash, and to be blatantly honest i dont think Agar or Smith himself does.

Smith is at the hub of most of the creative things we do we do.
He organises, well up the league in try assists, and I believe he has scored 5 tries.
I believe he will become even more of a force next year.

5th top try assists in SL the club site says. Pretty good that.

Could have been a bit better news if it was a little longer, but could suit both club and player.....at least he's here for another year and will be even better next I reckon!

Can't believe the negativity around this fella......he's top drawer and has shown it on many, many occasions this season......I must be watching a different game sometimes....
