So we have invested a great deal of time, effort and money into several very promising young players and it seems that not even the fans want to give them a chance. I think a good coach would find a place for any three of the following players in his 17 man squad for every single game we play next season, Anakin, Speirs, Trout, Wildie, Davey and Walshaw. Lets make sure that each of these lads get 10 games at least, lets find out if they are good enough, are they going to be the stars of the future. The alternative is to watch all the years we have put into them go to waste as they sign for other clubs because they were not given a chance at Trinity.

The context of your comment didn't appear to be in relation to a particular position and more of a comment in relation to kicking ability not being needed in RL.

ATEOTD the half backs (in both codes) have responsibility for how the attacking flow of their teams and, regardless of code, need to be able to kick.

The hint is also there for you in the names of the respective governing bodies - Rugby FOOTball League & Rugby FOOTball Union.

Your backs look stronger this year compared to last, imo. Fox can and has been a very good winger, and if he can recapture those performances he had a couple of years back he'll be a quality player.
With Cockayne, as much as I really don't like him as a person, he has always seemed to be passionate and give 100% on the pitch, so I think that your wingers for this season are much better.
Mellars is a great signing, he always did well when at Crusaders, so if you can give him a good supply of the ball in attack you should see some tries.

If you can manage to resign Obst then I think that attacking you'll have potential, at the moment it's kinda tricky to choose two good halves, no offence, but with Obst you'll be more creative and attacking. He's been pretty good for Hull this past year when he's been in the halves. Maybe the signing of Danny Washbrook at loose forward will add a little creativity to your attack too, as he plays as a ball-handling LF not as a 3rd prop. Just watch out for Agar trying to slip him into the halves when you get injuries.

I think that you'll do better this season that you did last, but as long as you're accepting of the fast that with the recent financial problems and loss of some quality players it will take time to rebuild, and so shouldn't get up in arms if you're not top 8 or whatever. If you can manage 9th or so after the past couple of seasons, that's a great achievement and you hopefully you'd continue to push on.
One thing about Agar is that he's managed to sign good players for FC - Fitzgibbon, O'Meley, for example, so maybe next offseason you could see some good signings.

Kyle has ultimately signed a three year deal at Wakefield and will be a Wildcats player. I am all for giving young lads a chance Walshaw, spiers, wildie, davey but i really dont think hyde is upto it. I think morton as more of a chance but he needs to improve on last year by a long way.

My understanding is that mid season Leeds make the decision but he remains with us for the full season whatever they decide, however I may be wrong

I think all 4 can play prop in the modern sense of the position.
Lauitiiti in particular was played in 20 min spells for LR and was very effective.

Why is that? Apart from cas away you may have seen hyde struggle to put any effective kick in, in about 7 matches not one. He kept doing little pee wees along the floor that nobody saw coming. It was like a 7 year old. I question if you went to any games last year if you think Hyde is upto it. Where as Walshaw played 1 game against the Rhinos and I could see enough to suggest he as potential.

I actually agree with him on this one, Hyde is nowhere near superleague level halfback. Fullback maybe but thats about his lot. Probably why the club are supposedly trying to get shut of him along with Penny.

Props these days do not need to be like Jack Booth or Firewood Harrison, (can't remember is first name)

He has had good games though you might not recognise because you are blinded by your hatred of him (just like blaymire) - catalan away, bradford away, warrington home, hull kr home, cas away. Besides, your being very hypocritical - you have a go at the club at letting Murphy leave and saying crap like what's the point of the 1873 scheme when you want Hyde (who came through our scholarship) hung, drawn and quarted just because his kicking game has not been perfect. But I guess we could go your way and sign an slower, aged auzzie who only has a better kicking game.

Hyde came from Bradford. Blaymire used to be good but was terrible for 2 years and couldnt be bothered kicking on as a player. Ok if Hyde makes a good player for us I will show my bottom in the bull ring. Smurph was is a good player you cannot compare hyde with Smurph you dont go to any games you have no clue. You are the blinded one comparing smurph with hyde its like comparing a gold bracelet to a plastic one.
